Actually, that may not be entirely true. Have you read the 514 Chronicle? It begins to introduce something called "Sleepers" which invented the technology used to create the mercenaries. The original implants were not actually produced by New Eden scientists, rather they were discovered and being tested. I suggest you read the chronicle, it really is quite interesting, a good read if I do say so myself.
Edit: Also, if killstreaks are introduced, I will be disappointed. The only thing I would really be okay with, would be a few extra War Points for you 5th kill and anything following, or something like that. Say kills 1-4 reward +50, kills 5 and on reward +75. Other than that, I see no place for kill streaks in this game. |

I suggest you go reread the chronicles.
From the Chronicle:
"The risks are significant and cannot be ignored," replied Sarum. "The Sleepers are a civilization older than any other - older than New Eden, some believe. They may not exist in our physical realm at present, but it looks like that may stand to change. If they continue to be attacked in this way, there is no telling what they might do out of self-defense. And it is certainly not prudent for us to leave them any openings."
Also:
"Blood-red skies, strange beings, and the number 514, often written in blood," said Shakor.
It says nothing about the sleepers being Human, it only says that they are ancient. How did you gather that? |

Legolas Winterbane wrote:Read other lore then just that the sleepers are the ancient human civilization from earth that came to New Eden through a wormhole but the wormhole then closed so they were cut off from the rest of society and after thousands of years they became the races we have today. Or something like that.

They're not aliens, though--they're some long-lost human civilization.
Remember that there was a dark age for thousands of years after the EVE gate collapsed before society rebuilt itself and interstellar travel was rediscovered. Lots of obscure branches of humans could have sprung up and disappeared that no one today knows about.
Here's some basic info.
And yeah, I read that chronicle. I need to read the third novel Templar One, as I think it may related to DUST as well. They make references to the Templar program in the chronicle.
Well then, my lack of familiarity with EVE lore explains all that then. However, I am still going to point at this - " 'Blood-red skies, strange beings, and the number 514, often written in blood,' said Shakor." I want to know what the "strange beings" are, they could be sentient aliens, could they not? :) Unless there is other lore that can confirm otherwise, which would be disappointing. |
