There is..... Nothing atm. At least that I know of. I do however expect to see a sticky post at the top of the forums when news comes out. Till then, everyone keep on guessing! |

I likely wont play until the new build for the same reason. I get the point, show me something more, and then I'll start serving as cannon fodder again lol. |

Someone posted up a thread about the conversation, and from what the developers are saying it's been forwarded to Sony, and is not going through Sony's Q&A and submission. So as soon (no pun intended) as Sony approves the build and update we are good to go. Meaning this coming week, or the next for certain most likely.

Um. Because, this is Sony's network, and for any game to release "patches" or updates (minus live updates) you need to go through Sony, and get their approval. It's politics. This is also true for Nintendo, and Microsoft's XBL. Is it really hard to understand? What you want to know is what did the contract or agreement state between CCP and Sony on rights, ownership, and power of approval. As I pointed out though it's always politics, and about control.
Just like when Sony introduced "trophies" they made it clear that every game after a certain date would have to have "trophy" support. It was mandatory. Do not ask me why, but it was. Every publisher, and company has their control issues, or demands. Some more then others. Nintendo has a limit on download sizes; which they marginally increased recently. It's very fickle actually and does not make for wanting developers to publish their content on Nintendo's network. Microsoft actually has their own demands, but I cannot remember all of them. It's not just achievments either.
Anyway you get the point. They all do it. |

Sony also bent over backwards on not charging so much on patch deployments, allowing third party apps such as eve voice and connecting to outside servers. I just wished they would expedite the service. |

If you think remote explosives do not need a nerf, then you must be
a) High, near overdose on drugs.
b) Depressed, abused at home.
c) Remote Explosive Abuser |

Ha-ha.. Nerf the "TM" (Trademark) what a riot, but so true. It's everywhere and so overpowering!
As for RE's (Remote Explosives) -- All I will say is that need some tweeking, and that is true just as much as it is people are abusing them entirely. |

Yeah, basically they charge a small fortune to have each patch "certified" to make sure it meets their network guidelines as a part of whatever the licensing agreement is, I'm not really sure whether there is actually any play testing involved at all. |

Well actually most people do not even know that Sony actually charges developers, and other publishers to host their content on PSN (PlayStation Network). Which is amazing really, but it's business I suppose. As for patches, or updates not hosted on PSN I do not believe there is a charge, but it does have to meet Sony's approval, and qualifications. It's more about the network then anything I'm sure. It has to meet a certain standard, but also cannot compromise the security, or stablity of said network. Which is both good for Sony and the dev/publisher.
What else is stated though in those contracts, or agreements I am unsure of. I know that certain developers and their contracts with their publisher can be both frivolous, and harmful though. OBSIDIAN is one poor developer whom is constantly shafted all the time due to their binding agreements. Infact the last was with Bethesda, and Fallout: New Vegas. They apparently failed to receive a high enough score from Metacritic (of all places) to obtain their bonus. Which is quite sad if you ask me. Having a site on the internet and random people, or loaded variables dictate whether or not you obtain a bonus.
Just sad, but in the end as I pointed out it's politics. |
