POST Your "simple corp" thoughts here
Main Topic for DUC#2 "simple corps"
Quote:CCP is looking at if they could have simple DUST corps, with chat channels. They understand the importance of corps, and are looking at a concept called "simple corps", with greatly streamlined management. Those might be part of a beta release, or they might just have NPC/FW corps for people to join. At the latest, players would be able to join player alliances or corps in 2013. CCP is also looking at including persistent squads, so people can play matches with an ad-hoc group. CSM meeting minutes Page 72
EDIT: Here are the tools I would live with:
Recruiting: Allowing members to Hire
Corp Mail and Chat: Of course this will be there
Corp Hanger(s): Deny or Allow access
Corp Wallet(s): Deny or Allow access
Rank/Title System: We don't need any roles for this truly, but being able to Rank is whats needed to organize a great Corp/Clan.
Quote:or they might just have NPC/FW corps for people to join
This is how we would have to structure our forces for those of us that run "Corps" purely off of external means (such as organized by websites and Chat programs) if NPC Corps are forced on us. For us to organize without player made "Corps" we will have to have everyone join the same faction on an individual level (which is easy to do). Then use "Friend list's" for our roster and grouping to organize matches. Corp wallet would be purely on one to multiple Members personal wallets with no records what whats being spent where. And Corp hangers with be personal inventory. You would see more players putting clan tags in their names due to no ticker support and see a lot more Biomasses to change names when their external Corp fails or they are let go or quit (if such acts takes place)
I would like to test Corps ASAP because this will be critical for longevity within DUST
Thank you ;)

TotalBreakage wrote:I just hope we get any kind of grouping system soon, as long as I get to roll with my corp mates, clan tags don't mean ****.
Grouping will be a little better then what is going on now, but it all could end up like MAG where your placed in a faction due to race and thus you can only group with others in that same faction. So Corps that want to form might have to tell everyone to pick the same race for their character to work together.
This part worry's me: Quote:or they might just have NPC/FW corps for people to join
But I agree with this Quote:The entire CSM said that having some sort of corporation at launch of DUST was critical, even if it wasn't the eventual ideal structure.

I would like Corps support with the ability to choose a side for the Corp over choosing a faction and only being allowed grouping. It looks like will have some form of Corp support. To what is unsure, But we should let CCP know what we would want.

I can go without Titles/Ranks as well as long as the rest is in tact |

Racial restrictions like that wont happen. Corps all through Eve are diverse with the various races. I would highly doubt that they would restrict corporations to having just one race of people...
This fact is true about Corps in EVE. However i am not speaking on corp's, but on the possibility of there being no Corps on launch. This is how we would have to structure our forces for those of us that run "Corps" purely off of external means (such as organized by websites and Chat programs) For us to organize without "Corps" we will have to have everyone join the same faction on an individual level. Joining in Faction Warfare as a Corp the side is chosen by the CEO and member's won't have to worry about doing it themselves. Also from my knowledge of FW, if a corps chooses to enter FW then the factions they have available to them is based on a percentage of their members faction standing as a whole (please correct if wrong and provide link)
I am for Corp support due to convenience and had listed the bare bones of what I would need. |

Counting Wizard wrote:I read the twitter link about Betamax posted by David Reid and I really wanted to reply back but didn't because of NDA. CCP is really giving the wrong impression about the state of the beta, because there are no corps right now. Its pretty stupid to call yourself a corp if you can't play together in game. Organizing a corp right now is just a big theory crafting circle jerk and pretty pointless except for trying to talk to people who also play the game.
In your crud way your right, but the good news is that CCP dose know we are forming these Corps and also know how important they are to us. Since this post is using outdated information, everyone should assume that Corps are in the work. We just should voice our onions of what we want. Even if its to just let CCP know they are on the right track. |

I kid, but seriously, if people start forming corps even without in game support, that really shows CCP that people really want them and they might put it up a little higher on the priority list.
LOL!
Its Onions and not Opinions because we are crying over no grouping yet |
