Almost no one play Ambush. I can see 10-15 games going on at the one Skirmish map we have and perhaps a single game or three on the various Ambush maps. This is a good sign. I hope this trend continues after launch.
Another thing: Why is the attacker vs defender game mode called skirmish, wouldn't Ambush be a better name? And why is the TDM game mode called Ambush? Wouldn't skirmish be a better name considering its really what it is, a skirmish where a bunch of mercs try to kill each other?
English is not my first language so I might be mistaken but if I understand the words correctly then I'm a little pussled. |

That wasn't always true in the last build but as of late alot of people are spread out among the servers, I like ambush though it's nicer being closer to your allies. |

Its called Ambush because it had random spawning across the entire conflict area. An ambush is usually an "unexpected attack". Hence the name. Enemies could literally spawn in the middle of allied ranks. I haven't played Ambush for a while so that's why I'm saying everything in past tense.
Skirmish is a planned battle however. You know where the enemy is. You know where your allies are, and where they're coming from. |

This bugged me enough to google the definitions of the two words, and despite my wish they would swap, they do seem to be labeled correctly based off their definitions. I'd like different names though, they're somewhat confusing, especially to new players. |
