A lot less self-entitled idiots and a lot more team-based tactical minds.
Johnny Alpha couldn't help you because he didn't have the ammo - you didn't like his weapon. You died because he couldn't reload fast enough. He doesn't field your suit, your modules, your equipment, or your gun. It's his fault the battle was lost.
This way of thinking doesn't make sense and you should probably re-evaluate your life if you're too self-absorbed to realize that your death is meaningless to the rest of the game's community. We do not care if you died, how you died, why you died, or what could have been done to avoid your death. You are a blight on the society that is gamer's and your mentality should be stamped out, replaced with a more controlled thinking.
Your experiences are meaningless as well. What happened in game 'x' is nothing on this battlefield. You are skillful in a completely different field, as is everyone else. Beyond your own satisfaction your method of play is worthless - if everyone were like you than we would all die in the same silly manner. What matters in this game is the combat and nothing more. How it is won is dictated by abolition of emotion and commitment to focus.
Dumb down your emotional response, inhibitions, and hesitations. Otherwise you're worthless in a firefight. |

I value your opinions because I have been on the field with you constantly, Lurch - but talking about the good and bad times in a combat situation isn't necessary and diverts the attention to a non-sequential order of operation. |

Okay, that definitely draws a line in the mud......its one thing to pal around with guys on forums and ventrilo..... What pisses me off to no end is guys spamming useless **** on the mics during a game. I played sports in college and am a pretty active dude so i get competitive and im not linked up on comms so i can hear somebody talking about useless info or saying, "Oh go, o god, oh god....damn it! he got me!" edit: it seems i overlooked the part where you actually said you were talking about being on the battlefield. sorry for the mistake my dude, i should read before i post.
Turtle Beach has a nifty little toggle on their microphone which allows me to mute the microphone until I need it.
It's interesting because it has this "on" and "off" switch with a colored light that tells me which one it's on.
The only reason I bring it up is because I think there's a significant amount of combatants that... Lack these capabilities. |

Dumb down your emotional response, inhibitions, and hesitations. Otherwise you're worthless in a firefight. I turned off voice and am enjoying it a lot more. I invested in an expensive TB PX5 headset only to find a bunch of whining men taking over the whole comm and when I ask them to stop, they cuss me out. That this is beta and they have a right to bi** on in-game voice chat about it. That, mixed with immature people blasting music, awkward conversations being overheard, and people on mic doing nothing but sniffing, coughing, and rubbing their mic on their scruffy beard the whole time.. I had enough. When we can mute, I'll be happy to join the good people again.
Corporation comms will be the best option. A collaborative group of people who do not ***** for fear of being removed. |

Tak Kak wrote:The sony mic is beautiful, you can mute your mic and shut the chatter, or not, when you want to alot easier than I have found with the turtle beach headsets. I think this whole community communication issue will pan out when it opens to the public and everyone has their place in the causal high sec battles and the slightly more intense Low sec ones.
It's more an issue of personality. This blame game as to the reason **** went wrong - it's not their fault they died. It's the weapon being over-powered. It's the dropsuit not being powerful enough. It's the spawn camping. It's the vehicles being too powerful. It's the other guy's fault for not covering you (when he was out of ammo). It's the dropship pilot's fault for not going down with his vehicle and bailing out the second it hit 0% armor.
Seriously, you know what makes me want to blow my ******* head off at the end of the night? It's not the glitches, bugs, game mechanics, or features.. It's the self-entitled community. |
