Oh noes.
Good thing it's 2pm (BST, 1PM GMT) in Europe, when most people are at work, out with friends, asleep, or eating.
It's something like 6AM on the East Coast of the US, and people are hardly going to be awake.
Also, good thing that a new build's coming in soon, huh? |

Above poster implies that console players are spoon-fed everything whenever they get bored.
Get a life, Nukem. CCP aren't EA, Activision or Epic. They have to work on the game, instead of just pump out a new build whenever they think their players are getting bored.
Also, something fresh? COD's been the same game for the past five years, just with a new name and a huge new price tag on. CCP will pump out a new, FREE, expansion pack twice a year (like they do for EVE). How's that for fresh, huh? |

jus nukem wrote:At least COD gives you more than ONE friggin map to play on! LOL! I detest COD nowadays, but they have the perfect formula geared towards console players. Thats undeniable. Its amazing ppl stuck around for as long as they did playing on ONE map! Working on their product is all well n good, but introducing something fresh on the fly to testers who have been testing the same scale for weeks and months is not at all too much to ask since we're all testing for ccp for FREE at that! Another incorrigible damage control FAIL
Sooo.... You're complaining that you're not having fun when you're meant to be testing balance issues...?
And, there are three maps, if you hadn't realised. Sure, there's one skirmish map, but I hear in the previous build there was a different skirmish map.
If you've only been here for the last couple of weeks, playing on the single skirmish map, you must have a low attention span. The only mode I've played has been skirmish, and frankly, I'm not bored of the map. It helps me train my game, for when the game comes out.
Also, CCP didn't have to let you come into the beta. They chose to give out beta keys. You ought to be thankful they did so instead of delaying it by a couple of years. |

jus nukem wrote:To alot of console players who aren't familiar with how a TRUE beta works.... this beta was a critical impression on how they feel the game is going to be. Once they're gone, rarely do they return. ESPECIALLY when there is very little buzz behind the IP. Like in the case of DUST 514. ccp beta testing formula would had been acceptable on pc, but not on consoles. It shows in the population declination
I think you're overreacting.
Also, there IS a lot of buzz behind the IP. A fully player driven universe? Integration with a whole other, different genre of game? People have bought PS3's for this. Friends of mine are interested in playing, having never played a console shooter before. Articles are being written on blogs *everywhere* about DUST. It even has people who aren't interested in EVE interested. Some people on these forums have started playing EVE because of DUST.
Not much buzz.. Har. |

There's also irrefutable evidence that it's a Thursday, and on Thursdays, most people work.

Wasn't last week a beta event, where ten thousand keys got sent out...? And we got early access on Tuesday.
So, this time last week, there were new players, not only those who had the merc pack. |

Chirn, I think it's safe to assume that you're new to this game, and don't know anything about CCP's unique development process.
They have plenty of incentive to get this out this year. It adds another dimension to EVE, and when future expansions hit, will add even more dimensions. Another thread covered this, but by hiring DUST mercs to capture planets, EVE players get a boost in game to systems they own.
However, they have to submit any new builds to Sony first. Sony then have to QA it, and that can take a while to do. For all we know, CCP submitted this build a month ago, and it's taken Sony that long to test it all.
Basically, it will happen when it happens. CCP are trying their hardest, and are trying to get as many features in for the 2012 release as possible. Any delays shouldn't be blamed on them, as they can't be helped. |
