PSN has a short downtime every thursday since forever, as thats when they update all the new content in the store. |

... You are over reacting. Here is a link -- PSN Maintenance -- So there is no real reason to blow up over it. The downtime will not affect our Dust514 time. Promise. Downtime will start (3:00 Am Est.) and end two hours later around (5:00 Am Est.) alright? Ha-ha. |

The PSN store has updated on Tuesdays for I don't even know how many months at this point, and it's never had a downtime associated with it.
But yeah, as pointed out above, the maintenance is only supposed to last 2 hours, and is before the Dust servers even come online. |

Ah, the psn, the one weekest link in the chain. Anyone remember two yrs ago, when the psn was hacked, account info was stolen, and u couldn't get online for a month or so? Wonderful times. |

Really they changed it? Shows how much i pay attention to the store i guess  I could have sworn there used to be a little downtime associated with it, as i used to have Thursdays off now and again and it seemed like PSN would almost always be down for a bit. Guess it must have been due to something else, i just always figured it was for store update/regular maintenance. Now i've just got egg on my face |

That wasn't the worst of it.
Lulsec (the hacker group) attacked the Eve Online servers as well. Thankfully, CCP pulled the plug on the Eve server (hell, on everything) before any data had a chance to be compromised. Thankfully, the worst that CCP suffered was a typical DDoS attack.
PSN on the other hand... ooooooh, big **** up. |
