Who will be the last corp standing?
For those who didn't watch the alliance tournament the ceo of ccp was one of the guests in the studio on the final day. He was asked directly by one of the commentators if there would be a combined land and space tournament in the future. He replied that the alliance tournament would continue pretty much as it had been but that there would be a separate one for the DUST 514 mercs and a combined forces tournament. I wouldn't look for the combined forces tournament till after DUST has reached 00 and ccp has changed their sov mechanics.
I do think that we can look forward to a DUST tournament around August/September of next year. I am hoping that it will be designed to be corp vs corp rather than alliance vs alliance. We can have some imput on a lot of how it it set up if we make our views known now rather than wait for them to officially announce the tournament.
Possible format would be corp vs corp, 12 vs 12, with a clone limit and a time limit. There would be a single control point in the center of the map which is neutral to begin with and must be hacked by either team to gain control. To win you must kill more of the opposing team than you lose by the end of the time period. If teams have the same k/d ratio then tie breaker would be time in possession of the control point.
There would be a single spawn point for each team on opposite sides of the map.
All weapons, suits, and vehicles will be allowed as well as all tactics, even spawn camping if you allow that to happen.
This tournament should be a lot easier for ccp to put on since it wouldn't require GMs to move players and materials around EVE, just the placing of a contract that only specific corps can accept with a specific start time. Failure to start or field a squad would forfeit match. If you can't field a full team then you fight shorthanded.

"After that, the generals resolved that it would be better to proclaim open war, without truce or herald, as long as they were within enemy's country, ..."
