We can't give you feedback with the server down like this. I really need to do some beta testing today but I can't because the server's are down. CCP you've had 3 days with the server and now it's time to share with the rest of us, so please quit fooling around and turn them on. It's our turn now........ |

Tak Kak wrote:Will you sign a petition to get the servers on? They keep deleting my threads about turning the servers on, so yes I'd sign if it would get their attention as to the needs of their beta testers. Personally I think that the servers are ready but that they are using them for closed games so that they can play amongst themselves. It's either that or they're afraid of being teabagged which I read in another thread. LOL But they really need to turn them on -- cause how can I recommend the merc pack to friends if my friends are unable to play like us ..??? |

Laheon wrote:They won't be on because CCP will be discussing data obtained from the last weekend amongst themselves. They monitor the game and collect data, not relying solely on people to tell them bugs.
They wouldn't be able to do this if the servers were on all week - they'd have no time to discuss and analyse data. This data does help fixing balance issues. They've had 3 day's to check the server's for data and if it means OT for them so we can do more testing then so be it. Hell I pull 12+ hours a day testing for them when the servers are up, so they should have to do some OT too inorder for us to test more. |

CCP is one of the only games companies who actively try to look out for their employees. You often hear of employees working for 100-120 hours a week to hit a deadline. Frankly, I'd prefer CCP take their time about analysing data and developing the game, so that we can have a decent relationship with our devs instead of them being half dead all the time. No-one said that they had to play the other 4 days with us... They can keep checking the test data while we do more testing and then play with us on friday which is the end of the work week. I'm sure they were able to get all the data off the servers in those 3 days. |

These kinds of posts are the reason people are reluctant to give a little extra sometimes, because of the worry that people like you, and others on this thread, will assume it is always possible and demand it. Just chill out. Complaining about CCP following the rules that they set in the beginning is just ridiculous. I'm not complaining about CCP, but I would like to play the beta as much as possible especially since I bought the merc pack for $20.00. Don't mistake my comments as complaining when all I'm trying to do is to get some game time in. I didn't recieve a free beta key so I'm within my rights to say that I'd like more testing time. |

Ad ski wrote:3 days to grab data, sort it all out, look at it, discuss it, look at possible changes, implement those changes. Really 3 days is not that long at all to do all that (depending how many staff are working on that part). I'd rather them take their time to get it the best it can be then to rush through it and have a below sub par game. Three days to grab the data from the servers there alway's Thurs. and friday to sort the data out. Once the data is removed one would think that the servers would be available again for testing. One day more or less would not be enough time to make the changes that your talking about and that would have to take place on the next server down time. So why not turn the servers on while they sort out the data and make any hot fixes that are needed ..?? |

[/quote]I also paid for the 20 dollar merc pack to get in. I just made sure that I agreed with the downtime before paying my 20 bucks. The reason for my reply to you is to point out that this sort of response to "not getting extra time" is more likely to prevent CCP from turning on the servers outside of schedule in the future, because it now appears that giving that extra time is having a negative backlash. Hopefully they will just see this as you being impatient, but if they think there is a consensus among testers that we all agree with you, then you can say goodbye to extra time in the future. That's bull hockey -- 3 and 4 weeks ago they started on weds / 2 weeks ago they started on Thursday / Last week it was Tuesday so what your saying is not true. They turn it on when they are ready too and that's all there is to it. I'm just pointing out to them that some of us want to play this game as much as possible so they have obviously done somethings right regardless of the bugs and glitches (which there will alway's be no matter what) especially if the game continues to expand as we all hope it will. I'm not telling them to turn on the servers but I am letting them know that I really would like them too. In life if you don't strive for more, than you get nowhere. And yes I've waited 2 years for this game so yes I want more and more. Life is short and no-one knows what tommorrow holds in store. |

Laheon wrote:Two things. CCP aren't rolling out hotfixes for DUST, as they have to push the updates through the Sony servers to do so. That takes time on Sony's part to test, so it's much more sensible to push a new build through every couple of months.
Also, half an hour to grab data each downtime. On Monday, after the data is grabbed, they organise it into days, types, etc. Tuesday, they analyse it in teams, breaking the data down into anti-infantry, anti-vehicle, anti-building, etc. Wednesday, they get together and discuss it, suggesting any possibly changes, balance issues, etc.
Again, not saying that this is what happens, but a day for data analysis and a day for a meeting is reasonable. If you add an extra day to the testing time, it will take that much longer to do all of the analysis.
Edit: Also, the merc pack was made so that you can have extra stuff on release, not so you can have exclusive access to the beta. The access was a bonus. You can just play Slay every week and get a weekend beta key from that.
But only every other weekend and it told me that in order to play more that I needed the merc pack |

But you have no idea what you are talking about. The truth is , you JUST WANNA PLAY D******** and don't care if there isa good reason to not play.
I mean, come on. You think CCP is just malevolently saying "Bwa haha. We could give them an extra day, BUT WE WON'T!!!! MUAH HA HA HA HA"
No... They have a legitamite reason. Patience my friend. Plus, playing 12+ hours a day isn't good for your health. View this as a nice breather. Lame statement by a CCP suckup that's not worth reposting about -- have another drink LMAO |
