 I know similar topics have been brought up, however its usually either sacrifice a slot or increase premade weapon variations.
 
 I think that all (personal not vehicle) weapons should be modular as an option on top of stock weapons (which are also modular however those modules are bought as a package deal).
 
 Each weapon should have-
 
 Butt- use to increase stability and reduce kick
 
 Barrel- increase damage with caliber
 
 Barrel end- Add things like silencers to reduce signature or extended barrel for increased aim
 
 Picatinny Rails- Add things like bayonets
 
 Magazine- increased amount of ammo.
 
 Ammo- type of ammo used.
 
 Housing (the chassis of the gun, ie a hulking chassis can be more expensive but has more cpu-pg for its own modules and thus costs more when attatched to your character itself)
 
 As customize able options
 
 
 Or just 3 of those. butt, Barrel end/picatinny rails, Ammo
 
 
 Honestly just looking for more custom-ability with our weapons.

 There's a thread currently active talking about bringing EVE's "rigging" system in as a weapon customisation system.
 
 I think that's a better solution than yours.
 
 But I definitely want custom options on weapons, and agree that they shouldn't be limited by slots, and shouldn't "use" slots - but they DO need PG and CPU costs in addition to the base cost of the weapon.

 Yeah I doubt that system is very good. More just there for the idea. and could you link me to the thread going on?

 Some suggestions include using equip slots in (mostly) logical situations, but that's not the only part of the idea, and it's got some good thoughts in. Also, most of the ideas which ARE restricting slots make sense to do so.

And change your scope design and level of zoom? And allow you to switch from a primary rapid-fire to a shotgun spread or a grenade launcher without needing to swap weapons or reload?
