I think we should be able to choose what kind of ammo we can load into our gun.
Their should be several different forms of ammunition to choose from.
Incendiary- A Weaker Version of AP ammunition add's about 2% more damage to Suit Armour but has a 2% penalty against shield's.
Armour piercing- Add's about 3% more damage against Armour no penalties against shield.
EMP bullet's Does 5% more damage to shield but has a 5% penalty to armour.
Their are a ton of different ammunition variations we could use.
And this concept could be used for both Gun's and Vehicles.
It could even have it's own skill called Specialized Ammunition which you would have to tech into just to be able to use them.
Level one would be Basic Special Ammunition Level four could be Advanced Special Ammunition Level five Could be Proto Ammunition

How You Would Equip Said Ammo. I Believe that as soon as you pick your Gun, Tank, Missile launcher. A screen should open up allowing you to pick your ammo Such as your standard ammo that all guns use as of now. This method would only work in your fitting screen not when you buy your weapon.
Buying Ammo.
The ammo itself would have to be bought from the market place. How much it cost's should be up to the developer.
Do you actually have to buy each bullet individually?
I think that when you purchase the ammo from the market place say you buy quantity x1 that is enough to cover 1 weapon with standard amount of clips.
Resupply on the battlefield.
You should be able to resupply your specialized ammo using standard nano-hives and supply depot's.
Cpu/Pgu requirements.
Since its just ammo their should be no requirements to shoot it. Since ammo would have negative bonuses to it as well such as emp able to do a 5% damage vs shield but a -5% damage vs armour. |

probably already in the works, but i think the eve players would customize the weps and sell them on the market. would definitely complexify the market more. |

I want anti-matter shotgun ammo...yes anti-matter is a standard ammo for hybrid weapons(ar, blaster, shotgun,sniper rifle, forge, rail, blaster) in new eden. 1/2 range, 50% more damage, ultimate short range stopping power, once re is nerfed at least. Or a reason to use 2 submachine guns, one with emp for sicas and one with fusion for somas. Milita tanks will die faster to smg with 50% more damage of type they're defences are weak against. Maybe I could repeat my smg sagaris kill, driver was probably asking what the hell after reading that at top of screen. |

Utilizing The existing ammo types (Hybrid charges, laser crystals, etc.) would add a huge level of customization to play. Making for extra long range snipers that are very accurate but do a little less damage or SMGs/Shotguns that are completely useless outside of 10M but just rock inside of that would be interesting.
It would add a level of player customization that is lacking in the fitting department.

In space, it breaks down much slower because of how empty space is, but in atmosphere, as soon as the antimatter is released from the weapon's containment field it would detonate instantly and blow up the person firing. |

I never thought of specialized grenades maybe cause it was 3am and I was dead tired when i wrote it :p.
But anti-matter grenades sound cool.
