Should provide some good entertainment.
Ringers will want to get in on taking huge contracts/planets. Especially when bigger game modes are implemented and people are needed for large corp battles. This is gonna be good.
I'm going dip my cookies in your tears.
That's right, ringers is no longer an excuse.
I'm looking at you the dark flock, BHD, PHI.
EDIT-For anyone that doesn't know what a ringer is. Its someone who join s corp just for a corp battle in exchange for isk/contracts. |

Don't cover yourself up sir. STB had a very large share of ringers themselves. Edit: were these people named because they had ringers or they complained |

I could care less about ringers considering I did it quite a bit back in the day.
I'm not a member of STB anymore btw. I still play with them sometimes though. |

I was saying that some corps will hire ringers and it will be legit in dust. No longer an excuse. |

I ring'ed for quite a few clan battles and see nothing wrong with it, but the clans you called out had legit complaints. If you sign up for Clan X vs. Clan Z and get Clan X vs. Clan Z (the parts of regular Clan Z members will be played by MAG most prolific killers in Clan Z tags) then you're not getting what you signed up for. |

I haven't thought about ringers yet. Now thinking about it, ringing might be something I want to do. Corps would pay very nicely. Also, what was with that uniform requirement thing. It scared away all the grims over hours players. |

I have been in those clan battles playing for the X clan. You just have to suck it up, buckle down, and enjoy the laggy ride. Its still more fun/challenging then playing randoms tbh.
For some people it was kind of an honor thing I guess. |

You would have to play under their corp tag, meaning join their corp even if for a set period of time. Your current avatar has your corp and faction listed for public viewing and if Dust is like EVE, you will be able to look up a players current corp and his employment history. Yes, there will be ringers and spy's which will lead to more vetting before someone is allowed into a corp once the game goes public.
Better to train your own killers and spec ops guys than to hire them. Might take your 20 mill and sell you out for a bill during the alliance tournament.
After the first 6 months to a year you won't be playing randoms that much and there will be plenty of competition for the contracts. One thing I wish hadn't happened so soon is the formation of Dust alliances. Would rather have had "...open war, without truce or herald..." |

Not sure how Corp battles will work. As far as I can tell solo artists don't get much love. They are not clan wars. But who knows..the idea is sound and speculation is fun. |

WTF is a "ringer". From context it sounds like someone who helps you for money? If so, what is the problem with this? |

The point of this thread is to say that in DUST, that won't be a valid argument. Nothing new to see, carry on. |

eve corps will weed out these ringers as you call them.
questions get asked if your employment history is full. they want to know why they been in so many corps, they are normaly turned down by good recruitment officers. weeded out via security checks.
i do not see them being a problem to be honest , just more bodys to pewpew on the other hand these FPS clans will learn the hard way. corps are different to a clan. what works in one type of game will not work in another.
clans will soon be called corps / alliances

Well, the way it works in EVE is: there are corporations and alliances. Corps and Alliances can declare war on other corps and alliances, which costs money each week. Wars are needed for hostilities in high-security space, otherwise the space-police known as CONCORD will blow up the aggressors(s), but if you have a legally declared war, you can blow up your war targets as much as you want. There are merc corps that will declare war for money and all-out attack the target for a length of time dictated by the contract.
In low-security and null-security space, you can blow up whoever you want and take their stuff. Any order here is enforced by the faction(s) that control it.
There is a standings system where a corp or alliance can set standings towards players, corps, or alliances and these good and bad standings show up as icons overlaid on their names. So it makes it easy to know when you see someone whether your faction likes them or not. This leads to unofficial coalitions and non-aggression pacts that are enforced only by the leaders setting standings and saying "don't shoot these guys". Of course, like real coalitions, these can also descend into in-fighting.
You need at least a corp to really accomplish anything like holding territory and in null-sec you really need an alliance. This is where you get those huge battles with hundreds of people in each fleet.
From what I read, corp battles in DUST will be like in EVE where balance is not enforced. If corp A brings 10 people, nothing is stopping corp B from bringing 20. We're not talking about even matches of 5v5 or whatever like in most FPSes, but wars where money, numbers, and logistics are important.
I doubt anyone will hire a single person to help them out if that's what people mean by "ringers". |

depends on if those ringers have chemistry and can work together as a unit a corp with even skill will still win because they got better teamwork
now a terrible corp is another story, the ringers can prob win on pure skill |
