I was thinking it might be nice if there was a way you could spend isk to free up skill points you have in a area you might decide you no longer want. Example could be you decide you want to switch weapons or no longer feel the need for a certain book to be learned. Using the mind eraser would reset whatever skills or all skills freeing up your choices to rebuild your character. |

Nope didn't play mag, was just a idea I don't care if I can reset my skills or not thing is after reading on these forums I tend to think you all want to cater to the casual gamer or troll on these forums. If your catering to casual gamers then a reset skills would be ideal.
Personaly I don't care if I can reset or not I usually think about what skill I want and what I get further down the road. Also I did mention it could cost isk perhaps making it a high enough number that it discourges multiple use. I love how if someone doesn't like an idea they laugh and flame. Guess even some beta players are only playing cause its free and don't want to help improve games. |

Well that's a pretty big consequence of -20% skillpoints. Say you have 5 mill sp you will loose 1 mill sp through a reset leaving you at 4 mill sp to spend. And remeber through the beta its easier to gain sp. Also they could attach a time limit maybe everytime you reset your locked out of match play for 30 mins but allowed to pve stuff. Lastly it would be on board in your home space or merc quarters, you should not be allowed to respec in the middle of a battle or even before a battle.
Possitive thing for this would be when forming a party for pve or pvp people who know other classes can respec so you have a balanced party and not all one class. I usually pick one class and that's it I'm sticking it out till the bitter end, but there are people out there that want to play all classes and styles of play and would be interested in switching from assualt to logi or w/e
Then the main crwod everyone is trying to attract and keep is the casual gamer who will make a rainbow strat and spec into everything like a moron. Then they have either to start over or quit. Or what happens when the casual gamer decides they don't like being a heavy anymore and want to become a assualt? They don't want to start over not when they can go flip on anyother fps and pretty much not worry about anything.
Like I said it doesn't matter either way for me I could take it or leave it but looking at most casual player this would keep them interested and playing.. |

If you don't like the idea at least give reasons why you dislike it, I try to keep an open mind to everything I read regaurdless if I dissagree with the idea. Another possibility could be spend real world cash though I tend to like the penelty idea on sp when reset. But please do explain why its bad for the casual gamer, why is it bad on the die hard gamer? Why is it bad for the weakend warrior (those who login 30 hours or more on a weakend)?
I see no I don't like it and lol but really haven't seen a solid argument against it after all to skill up every skill will take seven years, so I calculate maybe a year or two to skill up to the level you want for your character. So right now your fine with the system but then you will be crying it takes to long and this and that can we respec boohoo.
But hey that's what makes games fun spending time to encrease your characters abilities. |
