@SUP3RMAN
Thank you for this post, you guys seem like a well organized and a positively charged bunch.
Do you have any plans for training up noobs, kind of like some corps do in EVE ?
The reason I asked because just like Grimm I have purchased my PS3 with an intention of playing DUST. Before that I played FPS only on a PC, but I wouldn't call myself a dedicated FPS player. The only game I still play now and then is AA. As soon as I tried DUST beta I regretted not trying any FPS on a console before, up till now only my kids used the PS3
Basically, not being used to DS3 my aiming sucks at the moment. For now, while trying to polish my gun play I am using my EVE experience to build up a good dropship tank and practice some flying.
Obviously training pilots in EVE makes more sense in terms of acquiring the necessary skills for basic PVP, in an FPS no one can really teach you how twitch shot accurately. I am asking more in terms of your attitudes towards players that are relatively new to the console FPS experience. |

We are absolutely willing to work with you and train you. I find it easier to train someone new to do things our way, then to take take someone who thinks they know everything and get them to follow our tactics. Also, i have lots of gunners, but only a few solid pilots, so increasing your skills in that area will make you an asset to the clan regardless of your k/d ratio. Come sign up and we'll meet up tomorrow in a party.
I think I will do that...
I really like your attitude. Frankly I don't care how many points I get as long as I can do my part in a squad. Of course K/D helps SP a lot but I know that with some persistent practice and some good tips I will get there.
I like playing AA precisely because I can always find a good pug squad. Suppressive fire, medic, flank and when necessary taking the attention away from the really good guys who do the killing. My reflexes where never that good, mainly because I didn't put enough time into FPS games, nevertheless I really enjoy playing a well lead squad. Perhaps that is why I enjoy playing AA so much, I started playing it right from the beginning when it was common to play with ex or active duty military. They knew how to put you in place if you kept screwing up but they were never rude or self-centered about it...
I am working on my Prometheus ( stealth is my kind of ship ), while I keep flying the Grimsnes. Of course with low K/D ratio flying even that ship can be expensive. Also as long as there is no proper pilot gear I am also trying out different logistic setups and enjoying it. |

Let's see what we can do, I just have discovered that my PS3 headset with the mic is working properly - only my kids have been playing PS3 until now and thats what happens . I also have only been playing for two weekends and have not the full spec of a proper pilot. Ultimately one starts with spec and skill designed for a specific role, and judging from what is available on the marked things will get much more complicated as new stuff arrives.
What I am sure about is that Gallante ships in general are ideal for armor tanking, because of the amount of low slots.
Prometheus will also have an ability to cloak so once I get it I will try flying it armor heavy with armor resists, as a heavy flying "tank" bit slower then other dropships but with the ability to appear suddenly and hit hard. |
