A merc like myself doesnt come cheap, but we do what we want and we like what we do. I mean really -_- stop telling me how I should play, with a watch like this.. who cares about the peanut gallery.
As a side note, I really do enjoy reading what you all write, and I mean ALL of it... Illuminati and whatnot

EVE players won't care if you have a good KDR, they'll care if you get the job done. If you don't, they won't hire you.
enough man alright. When people say KDR does not matter, its just excuse that makes them feel good because they fail at the basic FPS principle: AIM and SHOOT
EVERY COMPETITIVE TEAM ALWAYS LOOKS AT THE KDR FIRST
PS if we could only raise KDR through mining asteroids, then every1 would be happy |

I have a really good K/D ratio, but I'll be the first to say that I'm not the best option for every team. I may still maintain my K/D ratio (though its not important to me) yet fail the mission. Corps are going to look at the Loose/ Win ratio's. Not K/D ratios. Hopefully CCP is smart enough to incorporate those stats. Agno`

Eve Online corporations that will provide the lucrative contracts will not look at that as a priority (only as a perk). I have been through enough corporations in Eve including one power bloc (The Northern Coalition) to see that KDR will not matter. What will matter is how you lead your team, how you complete the objective the contract require you, how you defend yourself, your hacking skills, your driving skills, your corporate management skills. If I was an Eve corp/alliance looking for a Dust mercenary corp to take control of a planet, and I see that your corp has a butt load of good K/D ratios but failed to do much progress with said skill, I will not hire you. I would spend my ISK on a Dust corp that may not have much K/D ratios in comparison but are at least capable of getting their job done.
KDR's DO NOT COUNT IN A MMO; especially in one where the sole purpose is MINING ASTEROIDS |

Don't take me for a fool.
Sorry did you forget the FPS thing before the MMO part, or where you to busy mining an asteroid to type it

Lurchasaurus wrote:Ima paraphrase something from another post i made:
K/D is a very legitimate stat that holds a lot of weight in most shooters. In fact, its probably the only one that matters. This is because there is no other stat that a player can use to measure his or her worth with since the only objective is to kill the enemy.
Dust 514 is not one of those games.
While having a high K/D is nice, what really will win games in the EVE universe is MONEY.
Corporations operate on a much higher and more complex level than a few guys running and gunning and capping a few objectives. Yeah, corporations will want to have a few wrecking balls, but everyone on the team cant be a pitcher. You gotta have a couple infielders and outfielders too.
Regnum is one of those guys like PDIGGY where they dont care about the game mechanics and would have this game dumbed down to a level where this game wouldn't even be Dust anymore if they could. That or they are just on the forums to troll.
All i know is i dont take what they say seriously and if they keep spouting K/D crap ima have a fun time orbital striking them into oblivion. Let's see what their K/D is then.
For those who cant accept that the game is a little more complex than they are used to, there is always the gladiator arena. K/D does matter there and im more than willing to make some money on your leet skillz.
LOL there is nothing complex about this game all you have to is AIM AND SHOOT, and what makes this game so different, to me, it looks like a dumber version of HALO 1 |

You now DUST needs a large playerbase to work right |
