just because you have a good KDR doesn't mean you're a good team. playing solely to maintain your KDR will not make you useful to the corporations that hire you. you could have the best KDR in the game, but if that means that all you do is stay in the same spot and spawntrap even while the other players are taking your objectives, and you avoid dying by staying away from the objectives, your are not an asset: you are a danger to all the players on your team. why would they let you in when they can find someone who plays for the team and does his best to make sure the objectives are always on his side, no matter how many times he has to die to do it.
when hiring a corporation, they will look at the W/L for the past few months. when hiring individual mercenaries, they will look at how many objectives you've hacked/defended, how much time you spend near objectives or spawntrapping (yes, spawntrappers will be very desirable, unfortunately), how many vehicles you've killed/hacked, how many mercs you have revived, what skills you have applied to support your team (and possibly the order in which you've acquired your skills so that they can profile you), what you say is most important to you in your profile (I'm assuming we'll have one), and then, and only then, they will look at your KDR. the only time your KDR will be important is in the gladiator arena (which is coming next year i think).
the way this game is structured, bf3 and mag addicts will do a lot better at first. lone wolves aren't as important. |

EVE players won't care if you have a good KDR, they'll care if you get the job done. If you don't, they won't hire you. enough man alright. When people say KDR does not matter, its just excuse that makes them feel good because they fail at the basic FPS principle: AIM and SHOOT EVERY COMPETITIVE TEAM ALWAYS LOOKS AT THE KDR FIRST PS if we could only raise KDR through mining asteroids, then every1 would be happy While true to some degree, the by word for nullsec will be "ISK efficiency".Kill all you want, but if your contract doesn't turn a profit for you at the end of the match, and all your kills were on militia gear, who won?
well, if the corp makes you pay for your own gear, the corp wins. if the corp pays for it all and loses more money than what you were fighting over is worth because of you, then there is no winner. you'd get kicked from the corp, so you'd just really lose. |
