If you get into the game a bit, made multiple fittings, its hard to keep track of the cost of each dropsuit
This is what I do: label your dropsuits with pricetags :)
I run mostly assault, my fitting list looks something like this: -4 yellow pre-set builds you cannot delete ( :p ) -Free Assault (all milita but whith nanohive) -Free Swarm (all milita but whith nanohive) -T1.2 - T4 - 9k -T1.2 - T4 - 9k Swarm -T4 - T4 - 15k -T4 - T4 - 15k Uplink -T4 - T4 - 15k AV -T4 - T4 - 15k Swarm -T5 - T5 - 25k -T5 - T5 - 25k Shield etc
First Number: Tier lvl of dropsuit
Second Number: Tier lvl of maingun
Third Number: Price for a whole suit
Notes: Just Notes
And this is how I determine the cost of a suit: Restock all fittings to same number. e.g. 20
Then check how much a 21th one would cost
This way I have the costs always in my view, how much a death will cost me. I did the same with vehicles.
How do you guys handle this? Similar solutions? |

Nope. I don't need to budget. I die, tops, 10 times a match, and gain 200k+ isk per match.
The most expensive of my dropsuits costs, I think, 20k? So, even if I die in that suit every time, I'm still making a profit.
I have 5+mil isk in the bank anyway, so don't need to worry about losing too much. I think the main reason I have so much is that I don't use vehicles... |

Ur right. I should write a strategy guide and charge 5$ for an ebook....not
Usually I make 150k ISK a game, thats 6 25k suits. I usually die more than 6 times a battle... |

its not a bad idea
I keep an eye on what suits I won't take a loss on vs which ones I can't make a gain on.
I know all my Advanced Logi set ups let me break even so long as I don't get redlined, and even under the best of circumstances I can't expect a profit on a game I'm using my mostly Proto Logi suit. |

Btw 100k+ is what you make for doing absolutely nothing. You can sit in spawn and get that.
I was completely for what you were saying, but then you figured I was making a stab at you.. oh well. Maybe you arent as great as I thought you actually were |

Good idea, but I like having DESCRIPTIVE names for my suits, and just... KNOWING the value of all my stuff.
It's a VERY good way to make the ISK management easier if you're having trouble though - and many people WILL have trouble.
By the way, I suggest that a few people should take a look at the E3 2011 trailer and note the 1.4 million ISK Gunnlogi... |

Plus one for you good, sir!
That certainly is some very sound advice for anyone who wants to play the game. It could use a little refinement on the coding, but that could also come down to individual taste as well. All-in-all? This is some of the best advice around though. I'll actually propably try to refine the name, and use it myself. |

My system was XY "name" - $$$ X was the type (A for assault, L for logistics, S for Scout, H for heavy). Y was the variant (1, 2, A, P for the normal, 'D' etc for the AUR suits). The name was a one to three word reminder of the role, usually a poor attempt at being clever. Bonesaw for my knifing logistics suit for example. $$$ was exact and just done by checking the restock prices at 100 and 99.
I do like your extra code for the weapon. I may adopt that system come this weekend in some variation. |

I'm going to have to go through and rename all my fittings now. Adding the price and some code letters into the description is a great idea.
Perhaps I'll add some shorthand shield and armor stats too, but I have a feeling that at some point it'll just become a cluttered mess of letters and numbers. |

Not a bad idea, but it really isnt hard to memorize or set a avg price per dropsuit in your head ... as isnt that big to me, as got 22mil saved, and thats after i spent 17mil last weekend on proto suits and stuff |

I do the prices and play style dictated by the suit (assault, av, support). Great advice for new guys having a hard time turning a profit.
I hope CCP does add some sort of label for an overall price of a dropship in the fitting menu. Not hard to figure out but it would be very convenient. |

Seeing the total price in the fitting menu is one thing (and I'm pretty sure it will be added), seeing it in the spawn menu is something different |

A good idea, but keep in mind that once EVE/DUST market integration is implemented, prices for things will be dynamic.
Everything on the market is made and sold by a player out of stuff harvested by players, so for instanceif prices for materials go up because people start ganking miners and supply drops, prices for stuff made from it goes up. If people manipulate prices, prices will fluctuate wildly.
In EVE you also have to physically move stuff to where you sell it or from where you bought or made it (or pay a hauler to do it for you). I don't know how/if this sort of thing will be implemented in DUST.
Maybe war barges will have manufacturing facilities? Who knows.
Just something to be aware of. |

Oooh. great idea! It'll help even more when we can accept contracts from other players- so far, I've been figuring that the contracts I take alone will be however much they want me to spend on gear, + 100k ISK if I win. That way, I don't waste MY money on YOUR problems. |
