So, do we know yet of even a ruff Gold release date? (Gold version is the 'final' build for a game release, if you didn't know)
I see a lot of ppl talking about ccp having a lot of work to do and very little time left to do it... So have they said when they plan to release it?
On a side note, this weekend marked my third weekend of Dust, and, other than the things we all seem to agree on (hit detection, needing more maps to test, yadda yadda yadda), I F'n LOVE Dust! Going into a match knowing that if I do really well I will get the SP I need to be able to FINALLY use the next tier of Dropsuits or whatever keeps me in that 'Just one more, then I will go to bed' mode of gaming that I live for... |

Err... sorry. The gaming community has a fetish for ice cream for some reason. They seem to think its called Vanilla. As for expectations.... December or a bit later are what rumors supply, but I wouldn't blink if it moved to summer 2013.

There will never be a Gold edition. There will never be a final release, just a final character possesion wipe. |

i was joking around cause there is no final release bud. This game is part mmo and will have biannual overhauls as well as a tie in with EVE. Not to mention the fixits and other small patches they'll be putting in. New content on the reg |

Since you're a gaming design expert, you should know that MMOs don't go "gold". They get released in whatever state they are in, then get updated periodically. |

Going gold is a reference from when CD-ROM was the standard format, and a reference to the fact that the side of the CD from which data is read typically appears gold in colour.
We're on PS3, so the standard should be called "going blue" because it's Blu-Ray, and even that doesn't apply to DUST because it's a PSN download not a disc.
More importantly though, release date is SOONGäó (2012) |

Considering they're slating the "First Expansion" for 2013 - more than likely going to come out at the same time that the Winter Expansion 2012 comes out for Eve Online. Considering as well that they're already implementing orbital bombardment support roles/bonuses for select Destroyers in the same expansion.
So, based on the math of previous expansion release dates (winter expansions only) we have:
Dec 18, 2003 Nov 17, 2004 Dec 16, 2005 Nov 29, 2006 Dec 5, 2007 Nov 11, 2008 Dec 1, 2009 Nov 30, 2010 Nov 29, 2011
Thereby - earliest would be November 11 and latest would be Dec 18 with probability of averages leaning toward Nov 23 -or- Dec 10. Give or take two-weeks to a month for various reasons including faulty performance/bugs which there are sure to be many based on the official linking of the games (which has already been done as far as character names).
Hope that helps. |

When I was reading info on merc pack I read it gave access till December, so that is my guess for final release, open beta. Same thing with this game/EvE. Most problems will be fixed, others in patches soon after, more content with new builds called expansions, few hard to fix bugs may be around for years. |
