The funny thing is you can OHK just about anyone with triple 50% knife damage modifiers on the proto scout suit. Get your pistol out and just lag all over the map knifing people. Its expensive if someone desides to shoot you in the face but its fun and totally worth it.

lol whether its fair or not, it will be done by someone sometime. All is fair in love and war and if someone can win somehow, itll be done.

You can call tactics scrubby or whatever but do so after you beat them.
fully specced and modded knives are scary

Let's see.

After a careful study of the knife in the fit I used below, I don't see a problem due to the following reasons.

(Low) 2x Catalyzers for speed -or- 2x Cardiac Stimulators for endurance

Endurance Level 2
Mobility Level 3
Vigor Level 2

With this setup, I can kill an assault merc in 3 slashes with the Nova Knife. Against heavies, it's just as difficult. OHK if facing another scout.

Considering the above there are several downsides when using the knife.

1. Hit box detection is so restricted that the knife will miss if your target so much as moves a few inches to either direction even though they are within your field of vision.

2. You have to get real close. Since most mercs are fitted for assault, you have to slash about three times to kill them. This is assuming you can land every hit without getting pumped full of plasma bullets by the opponent.

3. Most of the time, you just get gunned down. I lost so many suits that I was actually suffering a loss of ISK even with the contract rewards. It is very difficult to kill someone. The problem with the hit detection also compounds the headaches.

4. The response of the knife from the controller is problematic. Pressing the R3 button repeatedly would actually cause no response because the button (just like Charged Sniper Rifle) has to be released for the knife to work.

Considering the above, I don't see any balance issues. My only grip is the hit detection and the button response. That's it.

i love when people **** on knives before actually looking at the skills and numbers....they know no weapon will be good without skilling and modding up but somehow they dont put knives into the same equation.

knives are badass. when modded and specced....they are freaking swords
