First I want to say the only people who sit there and say PC is better than console players or vice versa is (as house would say) a Moron! I have played console and PC games and believe me I have met plenty of idiots on both systems after all an idiot is an idiot regardless of what platform they use! Science can not prove that either a console or PC player had a better concept, knack for or just better playing ability than the other.
Second I fear most console players are referred to as casual gamers and are not die hards! They will invest a few days at most a week average would be 8-12 hours a week. Your more die hard PC or Console Gamer will devote 30+ hours to the game in question. A die hard gamer has no issue setting an alarm clock to wake up at 3 in the morn on a tuesday just so they can make a coordinated attack with fellow like minded gamers. These type players will eat, breathe and . . . the game, your casual player will not understand this and sadly give the console player a bad rep. I am a console Gamer and do spend majority of my time playing games on the console. We lack a MMO style game thats good for the console. Sure there was that DCUO (casual F2P looser game) great concept at first but was just a bust.
FFXI (Online) A true console/PC merge of a MMO I was lined up with a 40 gig HD and network adaptor for my PS2 just so I could go online pay 12 dollars or 13 a month to play that MMO and it was a blast! Playing with console and PC players on the same server. Parting with Japanese, European or american giving the hour I might be on. Now PC was no better than the Console gamer then either in fact they always complained about who was worse but if you landed in a late night CST party with Japanese players you learned that was true die hard, Timing and coordination is key, everyone communicated (before mics too sadly we used a auto translate).
As for the earlier remark about auto rebuy I agree that is silly its a war game, you go to war unprepared? Do you go out to the movies without your wallet? Making the game easier and for casual gamers is not the answer in fact dumbing a game down and making it easier is never an answer to a great game.
As for me I want it to be fun but not easy like CoD or Killzone or Ghost recon or what not. I like investing in augmentation skills, dropsuits modules and vehicles. I like free marketplaces so I can shop around different planets. I would love to have to work with EVE players to transport Dust players possibly (though that might be a bit to much to integrate). I would love to just login and chat with fellow Corp Dust players while on a ship being transported then having to board an opposing ship in CQC or better yet boarding party to take over a ship in the name of the corp I was in! Still need EVE players to move around and assist. Though those are more ideas than actual things.
