So...basically some liked it and some didnt.......not exactly earth shattering news there. Where there any poll results, numbers, figures...anything stat wise?
Thou l did find the part at the end...interesting......;
"the beta forums have been a constant stream of complaints about the core mechanics. Sub-par FPS mechanics simply won't cut it in this day and age. "
Isnt that only half the story..........considering how many people keep screaming out "fanboy this fanboy that".

So far this argument hasn't been touched winch is not heartening.
Time will tell and thats somthing CCP have alot of....Time Also if you look at how much Eve has changed and I dont mean little patchs here and there then you might have a little more faith.
One big problem of a Beta...you only see the here and now,sometimes forgetting there so much more to come. I think thats why a lot of games have closed their doors to the public and do everything in house....and when a game does have public betas, many see it as a Demo[lm not naming names, just in general]...and assume it cant get any better.
Ive been in a few betas over the years..and lve actually passed on several, has it can be a misleading at times. |

CCP doesn't have much time at all - aren't they releasing this game in only a few months? I would've thought core gameplay would've been ironed out by now, and at this phase they'd be refining graphics and environments. I really want Dust to succeed, but first impressions are so incredibly important. David Reid is saying this is a triple-A shooter - it should play like an AAA title with all of the polish of an AAA title. This game isn't Eve - it won't survive on 300,000 players alone. It needs millions.
Have to remember, most Beta builds that players have access too are usually a few builds behind what the Devs have.
...and what game, except major MMOs have millions of players? |

In time every good developer can improve but nobody wills stay around waiting for things to get right. EVE changed and improved in 9 years just like any mayor franchise did. Really Metal Gear series is 25 years old and Kojima it's still improving. Also you must not mistake polishing & adding with re-make/re-desing. If the foundation of a VG are solid you can polish it and add features (this is basically what every game does nowadays with sequels) but it takes an incredible effort to re-design a game.
Good point...take note of FF14 Version 2.0 |

Hmmm...isnt there an in-game cash shop?
And after the crazy money Sony has made with Free Realms, l will never again mock "fashion/non game altering items for purchase".
Now, just imagine that with items that players can use to actually affect their game. People will pay for that.
