Maybe this is a case of 'your not doing it right' - -
I've found that the tech 1 variant of the heavy drop suit is more usefull in most situations than the tech 2-3. I know this seems crazy but even with pretty fair armor skills (mechanic 4, armor repair 3) I find my shield regen quicker and more useful in most battles than relying on armor extenders/reps.
Most battles don't allow the time you would need to repair your armor before you meet with the next enemy. On longer range maps I can hide out for a bit. The heavy 1 version also has more shield than all the other early entry suits - which makes it a great skirmisher.
Additionally I can fit the suit out for damage or shield tank (generally going damage and still having a good shield) as I can fit two weapon damage modifications or two shield extenders (I find the extender more useful than the repair boost - but my shield skills are abysmal)
Any thoughts? |

I run a shield tanking heavy mostly for the speed of the tech 2 suit. Also run a speed mod. |

more folk, need to carry remote reps... the heavy class of drop suit is not for lone-wolf SMG clad run and gun as it has, and is, most commonly been played. its for point defense and suppressing fire power superiority at the cost of mobility, and the requirement of team mates to support in exchange for defense as a symbiotic existence. mind you the HMG needs a little boost, but as a whole the heavy has been played wrong, or at minimum, in a fashion that simply-stated defy's the definition of its roll. this is not CS or COD and mind you there is nothing wrong with those or any other FPS game, but this game and those games are two separate entities. So, for sake of preserving the potential for genera defining combat tactics. also, for the purpose of not destroying something before it has a chance to mature. let your self think of ways to employ it in a fashion that defies the mundane before the, nerf bat and change hammer respectively fly about with such fury and voracity, that they turn this game into a pile of grey-inconsequential mush like the rest of this unfortunate genra. |

Gave you a like because you misspelled genre two different ways. |

Great, but we spawn like COD. When I can't tell where logistic characters are and I can't set up corp matches then how am I supposed to rely on anyone to repair? So until we have the ability to plan on map / or team with people we know - I will continue to 'misuse' the suit.
I also haven't seen the remote rep on anything except vehicles. Do they make a hand held for the logi? I made a logi for that purpose and can't find one on the market. |
