Also not everyone from EVE Online, or those who later got a pass, or even those of us purchased the mercenary pack on PSN are going to be able to get online whenever we want. I was able to play during that time, but so what? You still have to account for everyday life, and other variables. To note that is usually a time when most people are either heading out for the evening, starting to get ready for dinner, or just getting home from usually work. Also having a solid thousand plus on any given moment with who knows how many individual ID's logging on and rotating is astounding for a [beta] that is actually in closed testing. The stress test was a success. Stop and think people before you speak. It also proved though that CCP needs to work on some server side issues. Unless the next build has better resource managment. The lag at peak was increasingly getting worse, and Dust client issues were becoming issues for a lot of people. Myself included.
Seriously though. A solid thousand on with -- "X" -- number of rotating individual ID's in between is amazing when if only ten thousand people can only access the [beta]. Seriously some of you need to curt-tail your expactations. Let me explain though. Here is an example: Call of Duty -- Insert title -- sells "X" number of units in millions in the first month. You still will never see even a million of those units on at once even given that they sold, and are out there, and playing at once even knowing that on one platform alone you may have millions of units sold. Variables. You have to account for them, and unfortuntly life is fickle. The smallest number to have to account for are those who got bored, or those whom thought this title would be to their liking, but ended up not being as such.
So yes, the stress test was a sucess. Even with only a thousand plus of us on. You must be the Poster boy for EveTARDS Everywhere 1. 1000 people isnt good espically when CCP is advertising people to come play with free skill points 2. IT A STRESS TEST and 1000 ppl cannot stress DUST 514 with the # of severs we have 3. You have no stastics let alone proof of this account circulation, anyways, CPP was stressing the game play, so your point isnt even vaild You ma'am are infentile ignoramus. Especially considering you do not seem to have even a basic understanding of just about anything. Calling me an EVEtard? Really?! Like I am hurt by that. Especially since I do not play EVE Online. Wow. Amazing. I'm so hurt. No, not really, but I am sure even sarcasm is beyond you. Fool. First off though I'll explain this all again. A thousand people on at any given time during a closed [beta] is astounding. Especially considering the variables, and the fact this is only being played out on one platform. Secondly not everyone is going to be able to play video games twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. People have lives outside of video games, and not everyone wants to play them all the time. Then you have to account for a myriad of other variables in which range from tastes, knowledge, time & time zone, ect, ect.. In short you have a limited number of available people that can be logged onto Dust514 at any given time. However! You also have to account that time zones will play a part in this as well. Of course you also have people who may not enjoy the game, or want to play at that exact moment. Divided further you have those who had no idea of the event, do not have or want access to the forums, or community, and some who do not check their e-mails as frequent as you may like. Short and simple? You have an extremly small number of forumers in this community that know what is going on compared to the much larger majority who do not know what is going on. With that number ever dividing and growing seperate by variables. The simple fact though that we had a thousand people logged onto Dust at any given time at that point with an recognized -- "X" -- number of individual ID's logging both on and off between that is amazing. Either your expectations are too high, or you fail to recognize the basics that not everyone is going to play just because. The stress was a success. It proved the servers need tweeking, and the Dust client itself needs work of it's own. Seriously it's not my fault that the people's expectations were too high. I mean this build has been out for a month, and even some of the forumers here do not want to keep playing this very limited build. I'm sure most of us did not even get the chance to be on at that specific time. For one reason to another. If CCP was able to show us individual ID's that logged onto Dust throughout the day then that would be another, but they are not releasing that info, and we do not know. Personally the stress test in my opinion was a success. People are quick to judge, and fly off the handle though for anything. Blowing things way out of proportion. "Ignorance is bliss."
TEXT WALL
Anyways CCP was STRESS TESTING for max capacity and 1000 ppl is not even close, when we have 16 full severs. You keep making these points about timezone etc but the bottom line is1000 ppl is not a good stress test. BTW

RESULTS At the peak there was about 1500 people and this is a big stretch Over 10 000 all time beta passes where handed out + gods knows how many temporary passes, and the best we got 1500 people
So CCP do you really think your severs got stress tested to full capacity????

We want to like the game. But to quote Jurassic Park: What if they were too busy finding out if they could, they didn't stop to think if they should? Dinosaurs are dead. We don't want Dust to go the same way. The FPS market is massive and fanatical. We just want fun games with action packed violent joy. And yeah, grabbing a planet for your corp would be fun, but it's secondary to having enjoyable battles. I like Dinosaurs too.

I know of numerous people who would give the game a go but do not feel its worth the price to play a beta and one that's just one map. My beta ends today iirc and it would of been to nice to play with some of my friends.
So many people come into this beta expecting it to be a "the final product" without putting the smallest effort of thought into realizing it's "just a beta" opening it up for everyone at this point wouldn't be a good idea imho. |

So CCP do you really think your severs got stress tested to full capacity???? They had more people in at the beginning of this build than they did last night. The problem is that there is nothing new to entice testers to come in and give it a go. There is a little hard core of testers left, who are trying to get into Proto gear to try that out. All the casual players tried it, most liked it, but got bored of playing the same little map over and over again. And I guess most of those 10.000 beta keys have expired, they were limited keys if I recall. Personally, and the eve players are gonna yell at me for saying it, but I think this game is to complicated for a lot of people. Its like a girl with wooden leg complete turn-off

Seems to me that a brand new skirmish map would probably have pulled some folks in. What's with the recycled ambush maps. Popular game mode is it?

Or work out the corp roles systems and really get a handle on it.
you are an absolute *****, he was talking about dust, which isnt complicated its just not very good at this stage

The stress test, did failed, on the second week of this build we had more than 5000 players at the same time, and saturday y saw about 1000.
But it was just because, people that played this build have allready got bored, and a 1 000 000 exp, doesn-Št really move them to play anymore.
We as a market, are really hard to please, we like things new, fast, and furios. XD
CCP, is used to patients players, MMO, and RPG players.
We need some thing to keep pushing us forward, so we can hardly live on a 6 moths DLC release. You can not give us everything at once.
We need.
Week 1, you give us a gun that wont kill anybody unless you use it as a melee weapon.
Week 2, we can now put bullets in that gun.
Week 3, the gun can now shoot, but i wont hit anything
Week 4, you can now hit people with the bullets.
Week 5 and forward, you release skins for that gun that you had 5 year olds making at the office during week 1-4.
But the trick is in, you already have everything ready on the 1 week, you just want us to keep the interest. |

Not doing so good, even though it's a "beta"?
Should have listened on issues and worked on them ASAP. This falls on those of you who bitched about how this was a beta, claiming it was not perfect. BETAS ARE TO TEST AND TO FIX! Yet we get "fixes" every month or so. |

I believe that the reason that people did not come online was all down to the amount of notice that CCP offered. I think it was posted about 24 hrs before the event happened.
I believe that CCP need to communicate to us more in advance if they want us to be online at certain times.
I for one could have made myself free if I had more notice.

They should release a new MAP, so the testers will come back and to be able to stress the servers. Some players aren't enjoying the spawn camp. If that dilemma is fix, then we will have more players. |

I think it's because of the fact it was only 2 hours, and most people have pretty much stopped playing due to RE abuse, spawn camping OP marauders, Dropship tower spam (killed agentesmith again today, instant rage quit) and people having 10mil SP more than they do. Doesn't really scream "fun times" at you does it. |
