You can kill some militia tanks with reg weapons if i see a strong tank about to get blown up ill shoot it with my smg to get the assist |

I sometimes shoot at tanks with my AR. I usually don't expect actual damage though.
What I do expect to accomplish changes by situation but usually falls into one of these categories:
- For militia tanks this will totally hurt them. No harm in trying...
- Shooting at a tank draws the drivers/gunners' attention. This sometimes helps my team get into posision and/or get away if being shot at by the tank.
- Scare away some noob driver. This does actually work sometimes.
- Finish off a tank close to death with the rest of my team. Can't hurt.
So Mr. tank driver superb. Is that good enough reason for me to be shooting at you?

It doesn't draw my attention. Only when I'm not focused on anything else.
I'm not a noob driver.
I rarely ever come close to death, unless i'm messing around with fits.

Second, it still doesn't hurt trying. You could be having a bad day and decide to go rage chasing me and I still achieve my goal of getting you away from an objective. |

If it's a militia tank I'll use a few sleek AV grenades and shoot it with the creodon, takes them down almost every time. If it's a decked out tank and it's under fire and looks like it's going down, I'll do the same. |

look, i wasnt saying there werent reasons to shoot at a tank with an AR. Actually, there are definitely scenarios where you would want to do so. You kill a tank any way you can, its called helping the team. You get the kill proto? Awesome, enjoy the paycheck, cause its a big one.
Alls Iz was sayin is that its funny to me and that its a great way to spot enemies since they not onyl usually guarantee an AV free kill, but I am not one of those militia tank drivers, unless for some obscure reason i pulled one out.
Please dont get butthurt, you guys have plenty of threads laughing at us drivers, calling us scrubs with no skill. This is simply a thread i made for the drivers to have a lil fun. |

I basically agree with you about noobs shooting at tanks and about the crybabies who think tanks are OP because they can't be gunned down with a pistol.
All I was saying is that sometimes you're not being shot at by noobs at all but by someone with a valid agenda. |

very good point bud, and i agree with you on all your points. there are absolutely times when you want to give that last little oomph on that tank...
im just saying if a tank isnt almost dead, i.e. just rolling around, dont shoot it just to check if its a marauder or militia....noob move. like i said, better than radar.

I'm a tank driver and I still shoot at tanks with my AR if I'm on foot. I've gotten the kill shot on a tank a few times that way. Seems kinda silly, but points are points. It isn't like I'm in any danger of running out of ammo. I do it with cover nearby as well, so if the driver wastes his time turning his turret to look for me I'll be gone by the time he swings around. |
