Hi there. There is so much to say that I don't know where to start. First of all this things is about gallente armor tank Dropships as I've used them
First thing and I think one that needs fixing most is that you are not getting Team Spawn points, and I know that droplink gives you +15 I've started to use logi as pilot suit (cause there isn't any specialized suits now) as you could always drop some droplink and get points even if your dropship is hit before you could fly on it or just like a little bonus for working as a mobile CRU
Second thing is blasters... You know CCP, blasters are a common mistake it's there PG cost. 121 PG for Ion blasters add 140 for Automated Armor Repair 121+121+140=382 and with the Prometheus(You should be using it If you really want to play along and have CRU but that's going to be next thing) PG 380 you are out and you still have 2 med and 3 low slots empty... I'm personally ok with the thing that they can't shoot infantry as good as missiles do, they are good in vehicle-2-vehicle combat but that could be a point to consider too...
Third thing is a Prometheus it self... Yes I can understand that it has onboard CRU(have 2 friends playing with you as a gunners and you don't need it, cause you don't get spawn points and you don't make a tourist rides for guys that just want to get Kill Assist bonuses and your gunners are not some random folk that have saw XT-1 for the first time) for getting a useless(for gallente now) med slot, but why is it cuts more CPU\PG then a CRU fitted on Grimsnes? 140\380 against 165\545 with the militia CRU 20\160 cost which (165-20=145)\(545-160=385), It's all about 5 PG\CPU u ask? read a "second thing" again, best way to fix it from my point is to add vehicles bonuses to electronics and engineering or even give 'em another skills but hey there is Shield Operation, Shield Management and Mechanics there already
Forth thing is a "useless" med slot, where is AB I've learned for? (And yes I understand that I won't fit it with current CPU\PG ) having a shield resistance amplifier in there is a shame for me as for gallente... There should be ECM or AB there, or a Shield Transfer (but no bonus points for these too as I've read, couldn't make it work on my own setup) but now it's a useless slot
Fifth thing is SML problem yes I understand that Swarm Missile Launcher is the only thing capable of killing dropships good(I've tested SML myself cause wanted to know what's against me) but there should be some limits... tactics I use now to avoid them is kite\tank: u start going on a full speed from them break a little get a first shot then moving again repairing repeat until there is no missiles left, go back into battle, but that's a bad stuff, and I will go deep with it. Let's compare with BF3(most common thing to talk about) missiles system, in BF3 missiles go faster then any flying vehicle (even AB jet) but they have so little agility that U can avoid them by flying directly on them and making a fast turn in a last moment, or go for 180*\360* turn in the right moment cause they can't do a 360* turn fast enough until fuel runs off(and they could be targeted at the vehicle that you have to see, you're alerted about targeting\targeted\missile in fly and you still can avoid targeting by ECM or shake of the missile by flares or even guide them to some other unexpecting teammate ). And now SML missiles flying with the same speed as the dropship (not fastest ship in the release, at least I hope so ALOT) following you with a crazy agility, not running out of fuel(yes they will hit you 95% of the time anyway), you don't have any alert that you are bieng targeted, if you are targeted no matter where you are (And I'm not talking about the obstacles right now, I'm about distance) lock will be maintained and missiles WILL fly after you. You don't have any ECM modules to prevent targeting and to do your main job drop\pick up infantry, you don't have the AB modules to outrun missiles and bring them to obstacle in one word you have nothing. And it's sad thing to understand when u call for a 154k worth dropship in ambush where YOU could really WIN the fight with good gunners and get 0\0 game with about 90k ISK reward while 2-3 random newbie folks can get militia heavy and fire from behind (happens sometimes)...
Sixth thing is a kill assists and I mean when gunner assists in killing someone pilot should get points, you now ending battle in the end of the board is quite sad even with this =)
And the last but not least thing Caldari rammers as should be obvious caldari have a little bit better buffer then a gallente, and caldari pilots have taken an easy path, they mostly come for revenge after we've killed them and ram right into our DS while we're in combat they survive because of armor buffer that they have we die cause we tank with armor... So the easy way to fix this I see based on the other suggestion to add more structure and make it visible for vehicles and apply hit damage directly to it ignoring shields and armor.
