If you read the Traveller chronicles, you'll notice that even the female member of his team was transferred into a male body. For the sake of logistics and costs, it makes more sense to have us all use a standardized clone body. Now, I think it would be neat if we used said clones for combat, but kept a clone of our original bodies onboard the War Barge for interacting with other mercs on the ship and with capsuleers in stations, when that functionality comes out.

It would be far simpler and cheaper to have one kind of eunuch clones for battle. That way CCP gets to devote more time to develop key features instead of pooling all resources into making the amarr suit sexy. I do, however think that the clone you use outside games should respect your gender.

I'm all on for having male and female avatars with or out a drop suits on warbarge though.

That aspect of the lore fascinates me. Would some mercs eventually lose their original bodies and have to make do with being effectively biological combat AIs? It's all very posthuman/cylon-y.
