i know people have mentioned the knife would be better if it was faster. So why not add knife proficiency skill that increases knifing speed or time in between knifes. just a thought cause i just maxd out my knife handling an noticed there wasnt a knife proficiency skill after like most weapons |

There are things you should just be able to do without getting skills for a game to be enjoyable, otherwise a lot of people will get turned off. A basic knife without skills shouldn't be useless. |

You already get +50% damage from knife skills.
I want them to improve hit detection on them (along with everything else), so I can actually HIT things. And fix the responsiveness so when I press the button, the character actually swings. |

Except that it frequently DOESN'T swing when you click the button quickly, which means it's not registering the button properly unless you HELD it first, which is a bad thing to require for a last-ditch weapon. It should activate when you first click the button, not on release, and if it has to work from release, it should register EVERY time you release, not only when you've held the button for long enough to make the game happy. |

Can a key word be a fake word? As far as I know, "relase" isn't a word. Let me look earlier in your sentence...oh, neither is "realse."
If you are going to be rude, at least you spell your words right. As far as the knifing goes, I also have a hard time hitting things. Hit detection improvement would be appreciated. |

My biggest gripe is not with the damage but more to do with hit detection.
The hit detection of the knife is so limited that in order for the knife to be any effective, your target has to be standing Right In Front of You! If your target moves even just 2-inches to the left or right, your knife becomes useless. It is literally that useless. No amount of damage buffs would help in this case especially if you find yourself doing the "Salsa Dance" with your opponent.
As for damage, that is something you can improve with damage modules like the myofibers for biotics. There are three that you can choose from if you have all the skills: +10% for lvl1 / +25% for lvl4 / +50% for lvl5.
Assuming CCP fixes the hit detection issue, if you want to take full advantage of the knife, you will also need to fit Catalyzer modules for speed on a scout suit. Thankfully, Catalyzers and Myofibers take up different slots so you can fit both. |

k since u guys dont really get wat this post was for. yes i know hit detections sucks its bad with every weapon which i assume once they fix it the knife would get better too. idk about damage either didnt even say anything bout damage in my post. all i'm asking for is they add a knife proficiency skill that makes it faster or less time inbetween knifes (kinda like how MAG had multiple skills for the knife) oh no i mentioned mag lol
An after trying the knife out for awhile it really aint that bad as u guys make it sound i get kills all the time. an also this is a mmofps why shouldnt u have to lvl up something for it to be usefull this aint COD |

Personally, I want the knife button to be more responsive. I'f I'm "salsa dancing", as Maken Tosch puts it, and I've emptied my clip, I want to interrupt my reloading to use my knife. It should register on the button press, not release, which would be an easy fix.
And yes, if everything else has a proficiency skill, than knives should to. |

As I saw on the artworks the nova knife is a energized knife so it has to recharge after using. That would explain that you have to hold the button. I personally would like to see my merc holding the knife and attacking in the direction i turn. |

I had not noticed the knife swung on release, I second the make it swing on the press not the release. If it has to charge that would delay the next swing, capacitors can hold a charge for a long time. I hadn't noticed, so it doesn't seem that big a issue.
There should be a second skill for the knife, like very other weapon. More damage, faster swing, and longer reach would work. The damage is high enough, swing speed is another type of damage boost, so I vote longer reach with blade. |
