I am pretty sure there are a few of us who have memorized a few names and put them on a $#!t list, but lets not let a few bad apples spoil the fun.
of the people you have been playing with and dying to, whats your thoughts on the beta before we are bombarded with lots of new players in the next build/beta key release? |

judging the community from these forums? let me think...everything Iron Wolf Saber said. plus a bunch of whiners imo. and those who unable to see reason. ummmm.....hmmm. I think there might be some childish acts going around.........what else? overrall this "community" (which is technically irrelevant seeing as how this is beta) reminds me a lot of Call of duty's community.

just because there are no clans or groups doesnt mean there isnt a community. Player are recognizing certain people (especially for those with mic's) and making acquaintances and such. now you could say that no one plays on the asia servers (I dont they they got the message/beta codes yet, theres been hardly anyone on, granted its starting to get to the morning/afternoon period there now) but the US and EU servers always have at least 2-3 games always on, if not at times almost 20 games at evening/weekend. |

I see a community that talks about complexity and deepness within this game, yet they can't figure out a map that we have playing for what...3 months. Lots of talking big within the community but a very small amount of them can back it up. Mostly trolls with no gun game that will wall of text you. Good people compared to some gaming communities.
I don't even mind the adapt or die trolls because when I see them in game they are always the quickest to die.

Ugh, Valor sucked. I didn't want to join SVER but I was forced to, to be able to enjoy the game.

The "community" is several things:
1. Immature
2. Entitled
3. Whiny
4. Bad at realistic shooters
5. Forum PvPers
6. Generally poorly educated (or deliberately esoteric)
7. Uninformed about the game in general
8. Unwilling to use the search function
9. poor spellers.
10. Likely to ruin the DUST game for about a year after release

Depends on where your looking. The forum only crowd, the forum/IRC crowd, the game only crowd, at the moment, the community is fragmented as the game is still not live. ask the question again once it's live. |

Who cares what the community on the official forums will be like? EVE's forums are full of annoying whiners and clueless high-sec bears and that doesn't "spoil the game." If anything, it occasionally makes for some amusing trolling. |

Im pretty sure there is a small group of people on this beta who "get it," but there is mostly EVE lobbyists, FPS lobbyists, noob lobbyists, and trolls. This is too small to be a community.
Good news for the ones who get it is, our prayers are being answered in the for of Dust 514. (well, that goes for everyone i guess, they just dont know it yet) |
