Would it be possible for you implement a recording and uploading system, that will record say, 3 minutes of the match. Now, the way this would work, is that at the start of the match, it would begin recording, up to the 3 minute point. Then, once you have reached 3:00, it will delete 0:01, and record 3:01, then delete 0:02, and record 3:02, delete 0:03, record 3:03, delete 0:04, record 3:04... and so on and so forth. If 3 minutes would be somehow to much data for the PS3 to record, process, and update while still running the game smoothly, perhaps 1 or 2 minutes would be fine.
With this system, when you encounter a minor/severe bug, you could press (L1 + X + O + D-pad down) to save a chunk of the video - perhaps the previous 15 seconds and the upcoming 15 seconds, so if the bug happened at 5:00, and you pressed (L1 + X + O + D-pad down) it would save 30 seconds of video, 4:45-5:15. In the event that the game freezes for a few seconds (10-20) after the occurrence of the bug/glitch, you could press "start" and access a recording menu from the neocom, that would allow you to select the proper time frame needed to capture the bug on video, this is where having 3 minutes of recording would come in handy. Then at the end of the match, you could click "upload to forums", type up a quick little title and small description, and suddenly reporting a bug is 10x easier.
Any video that was not deliberately saved using (L1 + X + O + D-pad down) - or the recording menu in the neocom - at the end of the match, would be deleted. However anything that was saved, would be saved to a library that you could access from the neocom just incase there were any technical difficulties while uploading. Perhaps you could even transfer the videos to a USB Flash Drive in the case that you simply cannot get it to upload from your PS3.
Perhaps to even further make this testing easier, it could save a log of all commands input, that would record - and delete - in the same manner as the video recording system would work.
I am not a developer or coder of any sort, so I have no clue how easy - or more likely difficult - something like this would be to accomplish, however it would make the testing and reporting process MUCH more simple. |
