Seriously though, it may be outclassed by the Boundless Breach (no surprise there) but dang is it satisfying to take out scouts and militia guys in a single burst.

I like using the merc pack SMG. Free, and I can kill a heavy (in a heavy suit, of course). It works well when I run out of ammo on my AR, though. |

They could actually afford to tone down the Toxin SMG a bit. I never even touched the basic or advanced SMGs; just went straight from the Toxin to prototype. |

Did you upgrade your Light weapon, SMG and side arm damage skills ? |

i've never given the burst smg a go, maybe i'll try it out this weekend. I'm a strict smg user and the breach is for me, but I can tell you that in the right hands the assault smg is actually the better choice. The breach is so good right now because of it's large clip and great hipfire. It allows players to hold r1 for 8 seconds and dish a lot of dmg in the process. The assault smg however actually does more dmg in a short span, so you just have to kill them before your clip runs out. |

Tried it out, still prefer the assault. The burst is nice, but the bursts are not responsive enough to allow for quick successive burst. I always burst with the assault variant anyways so it's a non issue. Was fun to try out for a few rounds though. |
