In Dust, the running feels very stiff and unnatural. You cannot look to the sides as you run, because you run in whatever direction you are looking. In reality however, you can turn your head, and slightly turn your hips, to get a view of the area you are running to. I have so many problems with running into walls because of the way the running is set up. I should be able to look around, within reason, maybe a 60 degree cone, 30 degrees left/right of the direction I'm running. This is just a little thing that would make the gameplay feel 10x more natural to me, the stiffness is just so frustrating sometimes.
Also, I've noticed that to stop running, you sometimes can't just move the stick back to (0x,0y) and flick it forward again, you have to actually stop for a moment. Another little thing that has caused me some very frustrating moments. |

On your first point, Had the same feelings at the beginning but got used to it some time. Actually I like the fact that running feels more like running that in some other games. The reason is that it feels like an effort, it's the price to pay to go over there real quick. |

I find running quite nice. You cannot sprint a full-on dash while looking to the side. Same here.
Also, I very often use the sprint/no-sprint mechanic of looking around to slow down while running. When I want to stop, I press L3. When I'm running around and want to slow down, I move sideways and it slows me down, regenerates my stamina, and I then dash forward again without pressing anything. |

It feels incredibly unnatural to have your head stuck at whatever direction you are moving, its like having a steel rod embedded in your spine. Next time you are on a trail/football field/wide open area, try sprinting, and see if you are incapable of turning your head.
Edit: Also to other posters, I didn't know you could cancel by pressing L3 again, that will be helpful. Shifting the stick to the side isn't a function I would like to see stopping movement though, I would like to see that slightly change direction while sprinting. Again, Dust mercs may be wearing lots of armor, but they don't have steel rods instead of spines and joints. They are capable of slightly turning their bodies. |

Remember kids when running around with guns and dangerous weapons of the sort you shold probably keep an eye where you are going so you dont slam into some unfourunate walls and set the weapons off. |
