I wouldn't mind seeing this added in, at some point, as a feature.
I know we can replenish items if we run out in battle by going into the menu and buying more. However, I would like to see an option where I could, for example, tell the game to autoreplenish a specific rifle or dropsuit. I would like the ability to do this for as few or as many items as there are to be replenished.
It would be nice to not have my loadout go invalid, mid battle, even if it only would happen due to poor player advanced planning.
I still think this would just make the game a lot easier on more casual players who we all need for fodder.

Card Drunook wrote:This has already been suggested before, and the reason why it is a bad idea is that eventually most of the things you'll be buying would be bought from other players.
The first problem with that is how do you determine who you buy what from?
The second is that you'd have no clue how much you'd be paying. If you set a module to auto-buy someone could set the price to two million ISK a piece and you'd automatically bankrupt yourself.
That's why there isn't an automatic re-stock option.
There is a very simple solution to the problem you see. Allow us to set a "max price per item" that we are willing to pay and then all the problems you just brought up go away.
The game can buy it from anywhere it can find it as long as its under the price limit you set.

Again this is what many first person shooter gamers whom CCP is trying to attract to the game do NOT want to be doing. Let the game find that stuff for me automatically, just have me set a max price I'm willing to pay and let the game do the shopping as it is needed.
If CCP wants to have more than just hardcore gamers playing Dust they need to consider how to make it more enjoyable for casuals and from what many of the shooter beta testers I'm playing with have said this manual replenishment is one of the "annoying" parts of the beta.

I understand what you are saying from a hardcore gamer perspective but I'm thinking of the casual guy who might play one or two hours a night 4 or 5 days a week. This type of option would free up some time and prevent some annoyance for them.
I want the game to be user friendly and enjoyable for the largest possible audience and think this type of feature would go a long way toward accomplishing that objective. |
