DatFeckinTwat wrote:Well, I just gotta say, I am most impressed with the helpful and insightful comments in this post. Kudos to all you guys (even you PEEEETREEEE! You crazy fool!). I can honestly say that the camaraderie that is beginning to develop within the Beta group is just the beginning of the rivalries and team bonding that is going to make Dust514 THE most innovative, immersive experience on the PS3 for quite sometime to come. Suit up guys and gals (there are gals here, right?) its almost Thursday!!! *EDIT* Servers back up Tonight! TONIGHT!!!! See y'all then... I'm going to bed now!
LOL sorry I was feeling lazy mini, didn't want to go into the whole "stay by cover, always have an exit strategy posts" that i've written in the past. Actually, I should just do a search for said posts and copy/paste. brb mini
Edit: Back
Here is something I posted for someone else a while back.
If you're just starting out now, you're probably going to die a lot. People have been grinding away for two weeks(I think) and are at a much higher level than you.
I reccommend purchasing the militia shield and weapons in the marketplace to start. These weapons and gear are 1 time purchases with infinite use. Equip these items in the dropsuit fitting section of your menu.
As for actual gameplay tips, STAY AROUND PEOPLE. Because you are a low level, you are very succeptible to being picked off if you are alone. Your shields are weaker and your gun is weaker. YOU CAN help your teammates by providing kill assists and ammo until you feel like you are a high enough level to start taking on people by yourself. If you see someone driving a tank that needs a gunner or rocket man, HOP ON IN! The canons in said tank are probably stronger than the weapon in your hands.
I cannot stress the point about sticking with your team enough. It is very important if you plan on surviving through the beginning stages of skill progression.
This is pretty general, ask any other questions you may have.
Edit #2 Found more
You need to just be aware of your surroundings. The biggest mistake I see people make is just running out in the middle of the open. Run from cover to cover but don't stop moving.
If you see a tank, and you're not anti vehicle, get the hell out.
If you're engaging more than two people, stay cautious and make sure you have an exit from the firefight.
Staying alive isn't just about having better gun game than the other person, it's more about knowing what is happening around you at all times and adjusting your position and playstyle to fit that situation. |
