Default it to off (and fix the fact that voice comms default to off, that's stupid), and have no default PTT button, so you have to remap the controller and put it where you want.
And a mute function for individual players is a must-have. Also, giving us a notification of who's talking when mics are active would be nice - and I mean an in-game pop-up over their heads.
There is that conveniently placed left button ion the D-Pad that are currently not being used... |

If we had more Polish in the voice comms I wouldn't understand it. |

One free button on the default scheme, to which some yet-to-be-implemented features also need to be mapped, and it's not somewhere that's easily accessed during combat.
Yep, sounds like a good plan to force PTT.
I still say it's a good idea as an OPTION, but not as a requirement, OR EVEN THE DEFAULT SETTING.
But then, I think defaulting comms to off was stupid too, and CCP did that. So what would I know? |

Aww, but it can be SO much fun :P
At least buff hacking to allow us to tap into enemy comms, if we have the right command modules... |

But I like hearing them CRY! MU HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Perhaps a skill could be implemented that allows for us to tune into their chat for some good old fashioned espionage! and because I love to hear them cry lol.
Edit: Just seen the post above mine and liked it. Just reiterating how much we would love to be able to listen in to the other team. |

Someone mentioned MAG having "Proximity chat" meaning a soldier could sneak up on an enemy and listen to what he were saying. |

I thought about this a lot last time and I had a good idea. Because nobody uses textchat in battle so opening textchat could be by holding select for a few seconds and a single push would activate mic for a certain time. It would be close enough to the LS so we could still look around. |
