So, I know you earn SP passively, but what dictates the SP you gain each match? For example, are kills giving you 50 SP, assists giving you 25, and hacks giving you 100? I've also heard that squad commands give you more SP, but as I've never used the system, I have no idea what kind of bonus it gives. Does anyone know about how much SP comes from doing different things? Honestly, I think it's a bit odd that I go 5/12 and still end up with upwards of 25000 SP earned total. |

I have been trying to wrap my head around this one for a while. It seems like the system is somewhat broken as to how you get SP.
I know the basics:
1. You get SP for actively participating. meaning you can't stand in 1 spot all game and collect SP (understandable) 2. You get SP for taking objectives 3. You get SP for kills 4. SP for repairs / heals / rez's
so on and so forth. Get that much. But the reward sometimes doesn't even appear to match.
I have been in matches were I was literally taking all the objectives, had a decent KDR (around .8 that match), was ranked 3rd overall, and ended up with ~5K SP. I was then in a nother match were I literally died ~20 times (really bad game), took maybe 1 objective, maybe 2 kills, and got 30K SP.
Could just be me, but I think the current system is slightly broken. It's also heavyily weighted towards Assult type players. |

The points you get in games are War Points, apparently. Your SP is calculated by a number of factors, one of which I can confirm is your gear. For instance, were you to kill a full-Prototype user with your Militia gear, you would a lot more SP than he would get for killing you. Also, the active SP gain is on a descending modifier set to kick in after a certain number of games, so that someone that plays the game for 8 hours a day can't just destroy everyone else within a month. The passive skill gain is also inactive right now, though I'm sure we've all noticed that at this point. |

Aha! I hadn't thought much about the gear factor, but it makes total sense. I was wondering why the IGN weekend was such a wash for me, SP-wise. In retrospect, a proto-scout is a terrible fitting for noob hunting. You don't get the crazy survivability of assault guys or vehicles to make up for the reduced rewards for taking on the militia guys. |

Passive skill points are not inactive. After the last wipe i filled all three character slots but have only played one. At this point(Sunday afternoon) the other two had about 1 million sp. New characters have aprox 400k so they have rained 600k in 22? Days... |

I've (occasionally) seen messages about what appears to be SP points related to specific weapons/weapon usage in game, ie. 'such and such a Forge gun, 135pts', or something similar. Anyone have a clue? Is this SP points adding to your weapon skills from in-game actions?
I also wonder how the end of game rankings are calculated. I don't get the impression they are linked directly to SP or kills, although they may be a combination. I seek enlightenment. |

The only thing I know for certain is from 1am every night I start getting a massive boost to my skillpoints for about 4 or 5 games, then it goes back to normal untill 1am the next night. Also a better K/D ratio for a fight seems to boost the sp a bit. |
