I was thinking the other day a broker/Auction House type system to be setup to allow players to sell items they no longer need or wish to sell for ISK. Also sellback option would be nice in the marketplace. If there is already this option I can't find it for the life of me. |

This game is going to be linked with the economic system in EVE Online, so such a function won't be necessary, as you'll just be able to hit triangle on any of your gear and sell it straight to the market for whatever the current buy value is. |

I still think having a economy driven by the players would be ideal, but only if they brought in crafting to a degree. but even still if you have a surplus of certain items that you gained either in battle via salvages or no longer need why not sell it on a broker system. Could go so advanced as having planetary brokers. So lets say some salvaged items would be only available on certain planets thus other planets might have a higher demand for them. In order to travel from one planet to another I would suspect you need a EVE player to take you. |

The basic request here is to give dust bunnies the ability to participate in that economy as producers as well as consumers.

It will probably be very hard to implement a whole harvesting concept to that side of the game. Will possibly be horribly inefficient also, compared to the industrial juggernaughts of EVE. It certainly wouldn't make sense that a man on the ground with a handheld mining laser can mine more than a space ship in orbit, even a Rookie Ship with a Civilian mining laser.
Possibly, the only way to get involved as a producer is to get into EVE?
Selling items should be no problem though and I assume will be an expected feature |

True a solo player running about mining up a few ores would only be able to produce maybe a single item however its not really supposed to be on a massive scale example: at crafting level 100 in say armor the player would be able to make a prototype armor plating that outclasses the normal prototype or maybe could make a lighter more efficient plating. This allows the player in Dust to partake in improving gear mods that are far better than that made by a company in mass production. a frozen microwave dinner is not the same as a dinner at a five star restaurant. What corp would mass produce items that would cost them money to sell netting a loss in profits?
I have always found it fun to run around collecting items that can be made into items but thats just me and I am sure if I made a few items that where rare there would be people willing to buy them though. |
