I think the reason you would need to drop UpnP is because it would override the port forwarding protocols you just set up and make them worthless. All you people going mad over what is good helpful information, Are you going deaf from the noise your knuckles are making dragging on the ground?
Most games should make this info easy to find and no they don't need to try and teach you how to use it if you don't care enough about a stable network or getting connection drops to learn how to use your dam router then just shut up and go back to your cave. Let those who do know why this info is useful use it with out all the ill informed hate. |

I've been working on setting up packet shaping at home with priority for games and VOIP. In doing so, I have found that the listed ports no longer apply. As I am using a stateful firewall, and observing the ports used, found that Dust Voice now connects over the EVE voice port on UDP port 5062, and that Voice traffic now goes across 12000-17000, not 12000-13000. I was mostly observing connections in the 14000 range.
My Queue rules are as follows:
UDP * * * 20000 - 21000 *qACK/qGames Dust 514 Battleserver
UDP * * * 12000 - 17000 *qACK/qGames Dust 514 Voice
UDP * * * 5062 *qACK/qGames EVE Voice
TCP/UDP * * * 26000 *qACK/qGames EVE Tranquility
TCP/UDP * * * 3724 *qACK/qGames EVE Tranquility Backup

So I had to replace my router and modem. I've dmzed the playstation on the new router and set up these port forwarding rules:
UDP * * * 20000 - 21000 *
UDP * * * 12000 - 17000 *
UDP * * * 5062 *
What are the next steps, without deactivating uPNP, are there other known ports to forward? |
