My point is that I run my console straight from my modem and then right into the wall.Im sure for all the PC players this is simple and Im sure given enough time and research I could get this done as well.I dont want to do homework(research)on how to use some KITTEN work around....I just want to press start and go...thats why I own a console.....like I said I dont want a work around I want the problem solved and this game to work plain and simple.
I am half tempted to complain to SCEA customer service about the current state of this game and for a possible refund. Also if you are insulted then perhaps youll ban me.....well I can think of worse thing than being banned from a game that doesnt play. There are so many bugs in this game that you are not addressing leads me to believe that CCP is way out of its league to even have considered running a FPS game in the first place.Hype is one thing but outright lying is false advertisement.Im sure SCEA would also like to know that your software is hard crashing peoples PS3s and possibly damaging there hard drives or seriously diminishing there lifespans of them.
Lets imagine for a moment the warranty dept at Sony as hundreds of people return there consoles because there perma crashed and all the customers tell Sony that they were playing this game when these crashes occurred. FIX IT lol man I don't know if you're a troll or if you're for real. It's a Beta man, cool it :)
Van, don't be a ****. The dude does have a point. There's no reason why a game can't just be playable on its own without the players having to resort to screwing with their routers.
Port forwarding isn't always easy for everyone, especially if they don't know their router's login info. Some ISPs don't give that info out because they don't want you messing with their settings. I'm currently dealing with that situation myself.
And, for what it's worth, saying "it's a beta man, cool it" is a massive cop-out passive-aggressive tools use so they can ignore real problems. It's a beta, not a demo, therefore as beta testers we'd need to..... you know....... BE ABLE TO PLAY THE DAMN THING IN ORDER TO TEST IT AND GIVE FEEDBACK! *sigh* The feedback here is that requiring us to change our port settings in order to make this thing work is stupid. Making sure we can connect to the servers is CCP's problem, and it shouldn't be dumped on us.
Do I think the guy should get a refund? Er, no. Hopefully this problem will be fixed up soon enough and he'll be able to play again. It is asking a little much. Do I think he'd deserve a refund if the game was like this at full release and people couldn't connect without first messing with their routers? Definitely. If someone purchases a product that doesn't work in the end, there should definitely be a return policy. Unfortunately, many games suffer from unfixed problems from the beta phase, so to say "it's a beta" serves as no guarantee that a game of this magnitude won't have some major connectivity issues upon release. Many beta issues NEVER get fixed in some games. Remember that.
And you know what? I don't care if Evicer is a kid, an adult or just plain clueless. He's giving legitimate feedback and expressing how these problems with the game make him feel. When you write stuff like "lol man I don't know if you're a troll or if you're for real," you're the one being a troll. It's neither constructive for Evicer nor effective feedback for the game, and completely ignores that he has a very valid point that should be recognized on its merit. Grow up and learn to be civil with other members of the online gaming community instead of being a tool. You're acting like you're twelve. |
