it works in battlefield unless you teamkill too much then get booted from the game
i hate getting disconnectd from a game when i am pwning face like i was born to do it
a few hours ago i racked up 32 kills and 4 arms i was on a killing spree...then it happened
BOOM disconnected
could you make it to where all the ISK and SP we earn in battle is applied instantly
i know some people are gonna say no becasue it forces you to stay for the entire battle i can see your point however i should have the right to back out of a battle to protect my investment
i guess to make both parties happy just make it to where SP is earned in real time and i get ISK if i stay towards the en or make it to where i can join a battle in progress especially if its a corp battle |

I agree that the disconnect is a problem and no one should be penalized just because the server lagged and a team got disconnected because of it. However, it will be extremely difficult for the server to determine which disconnect from the battle was intentional and which was accidental. Ccp doesn't seem to know how to fix this problem. Eve players have the same problem when one player suffers a disconnect and ends up losing his faction battleship in the process while he was in the middle of a fight.
It's is a slippery slope you're talking about here. |

no people will leave games if they are getting owned if they earn in real time the way it is now they have to stay in the game to get any money or sp |

Let's say I'm a corp that hired you to do a job for me. Let's also say that you got 90% of the mission done and left maybe 5 defenders. You were almost there. BAM. Disconnected.
Is the mission complete? No. Should I pay you for 90% of the mission? Hell no. Get in there again and finish it or I'll hunt you down to eternity.
As for SP, I'm not sure it's possible. I think SP is calculated for the entire match and all the mercs together. The actual SP reward is only known once the mission is complete and only then can it be sliced up between the players. |

I think the way Tribes: Ascend does it would work pretty well. Have it be that when you disconnect from a match in progress, everything you earned from it is credited to you after the match ends. That way you can either just wait for that, or jump back in and pick up from where you left off. |

I don't like the idea of people getting rewarded if they leave a battle. The only Idea I support from this thread is being able to have your reward IF you return within a timely manner. If people could leave or force a disconnect and still get a reward that wouldn't incentivize completing contracts. |

In EVE if you disconnect/choose not to complete a mission and die you still keep all the Isk and real time SP from the rats you killed. So at least there's not s complete loss, it is a complete loss right now in Dust. |

This. It should be pretty easy code-wise to detect when someone's disconnected versus when someone's left a match(although I suppose some hardcore ragequitters could just unplug their ethernet cable?)
When the corp mechanics are implemented, it might also be interesting if clients were able to write provisions into the contract to address this type of stuff. It wouldn't even have to break the established world mechanics; from what I understand, these so-called "immortal soldier" clones are just being remotely controlled by the real merc somewhere else; d/c's and match-quitting could be explained by this. |

+1 also penalize the person 50% if they didnt rejoin the fight. Also I dont think its a good idea to issue out the things on demand becuase that can lead to more lag issues. |

My roommate also has a PS3, and for some reason I can't fathom, every time he turns on his PS3, turns off his PS3, starts a game, or quits a game, my Computer, Laptop, and PS3 get disconnected. It sucks. He's also a sociopath and solipsist, so he never bothers to check to see if I am in the middle of something (and I tell him about it every single time it happens).
In the last few days he's disconnected me from at least 10 matches, and a good few of them I was doing really really well.
It would be nice if I didn't lose my match SP every time my dork roommate does something with his PS3. |

So at least there's not s complete loss, it is a complete loss right now in Dust. Not to be a nitpick, but there is no real time SP in EVE. You gain SP at a constant rate whether you are logged on or not.
From there your example fails miserably. In EVE if you disconnect from the mission, the mission basically stops until the next downtime at which point it resets back to the beginning. If you let this mission sit for X number of days you not only lose the mission but you take a pretty sever faction hit. Additionally, you do not gain any LP or mission reward ISK. The ISK you are referring to is NPC bounty ISK only and is only given for fighting against certain types of opponents.

I agree, with merc battles. But with Corp Battles, you should have contracts, which if you fail, you don't get SP and ISK. So if you are part of the biggest alliance trying to win a planet, you wont quit etc |
