The Assault Rifle really needs some adjustments when it comes to ranged shooting. I dont think its wanted that the Rifle has the same range as the sniper rifle. It happens almost every match that I look through the sniper scope and see someone running far away... I shoot.. hes spotting me and shoots a few times with the assault rifle and iam down. Eather the Rifle needs a nerf with the range or the bullets need to spread more at higher distances.
This is no sniper cry thread (cause i like the sniper ^^) but the rifle is just overpowered and needs some adjustments. |

The high end ones could use some more accuracy loss. I really dont mind Assaults and Scouts and Logistics anymore, because even the CreoDron has to go through a full clip to get my Advanced Heavy with Complex modules down. But it is annoying as f*ck that they have sniper accuracy. |

My Creodron seems to have nowhere near the range of sniper rifles, and I am even training in the second tier Marksmanship Proficiency. But the Creo can certainly own any sniper up to medium-long range because of the rate of fire. I suggest staying further away and take better cover. Or just use an AR yourself if you happen to find you are getting that close so often. |

I think its ok because AR dosent have the advantage og better sights that the sniper have.
Tip for snipers, shoot and move. |

The main limitation on snipers right now is the draw distance issue.
When that's fixed (SOONGäó?) they'll have the range advantage a little more than they do at the moment. |

Did u guys even try the sniper rifle before? It doesnt matter where u take cover, the bullets from the AR just fly in 1 line in ur face. Sure u have to shoot and move. The problem starts when u miss 1 shot and they see u. Most of the time u dont even have the time to stand up and start running because u already got a few bullets in ur butt.
Just try to snipe for 1 day and check it out urself. But think about it again... even if there is no sniper involved. Isnt it strange that u hit the target with the AR most of the time even if u see just a small dot? Maybe u dont kill the target right away but u still see if u hit the target when the red crosshair is flashing. Next time u kill someone with the AR on long distance just ask urself if its really ok like this.
I just want a serious discussion, the problem remains even if there is no sniper involved. |

Well from the realism standpoint the AR range is really low already. Effective range of the AR today up to 500m. Gameplay greater than realism however. Also first rule of sniping don't miss a sniper who misses his target is a dead sniper. Maybe try to be more careful about picking your shots.
Edit They do need some sort of marksman rifle 10-20 round mag medium to long range sort in between the current ARe and an all out sniper. Yes I have tried the sniper not my cup of tea in any game honestly. From what I can tell though you just really have to pick your shots very carefully or risk detection and then death. |

ARs have aim-assist which is how I can face shot a sniper with hip fire up to extreme medium range. ARs definitely cannot hit anything at long range; I have Tier II AR Marksmanship Profficiency up to level 3. Also, yes these are plasma rounds which seem to have very little drop and travel extremely fast thus requiring much less lead on moving targets. However, about a good quarter of all my deaths are caused by long range Charged Sniper Rifles, or by medium range ninja snipers using cover and sneaking around central areas such as the pipe overhangs and low buildings. If you want to kill infantry with a sniper rifle up close at medium range, you need to be able to do it in 1 or 2 shots most. You also cannot tank as much as an assault suit, so have an evasive escape route planned with lots of cover. Many times, snipers cannot outrun the aim-assist of my Creodron Breach, no matter how many speed mods they have equipped or how many times they jump. So be smart and don't get caught in the open. No matter at what range you prefer, there are a few simple things that will always help you. Level up your suit skills to lower your scan resolution and don't stay in one place too long. Always keep an eye on your map indicator and be aware of what is going on immediately around you. Never forget, the Mobile Infantry are ALWAYS coming for you. |
