Title says it all. Has been a problem since the servers came up yesterday.
UPDATE: Turns out it is specifically the "virtual surround" option that causes the problem. Turning the virtual surround off on the headset resolves the issue. |

Lots of sporadic lag and the inputs mapped to those specific buttons seems be constantly cutting out. So if I'm moving or charging a forge gun the gun will never fully charge or my movement is extremely "choppy" (to the point of not really moving at all). I went as far as narrowing the problem down to Dust but didn't think to try turning it off the headset or modify the sound settings. Something to try next log in. yes, please try to just leave those headsets off and let us know how the game is for you. my main issues when using this headset are very similar to yours. walking is choppy or sometimes i call it stutter stepping. then i cannot hack, it constantly resets. i cannot aim down sights, constantly going in and out of "scope" mode. i cannot sprint, it constantly stops me and i'm constantly having to click L3 to start sprint again. overall, just everything is choppy/stuttery/resetty(sp?) These are exactly the issues I've noticed, usually not too bad, but seemed to be worse this past weekend. Will test with headset offf and report back.
Yes, this all describes the problems I was having pretty much exactly. When I shut off the "virtual surround" and just use regular 2.0 audio all of those issues completely disappeared. So don't just try turning the headset off, also try turning off the virtual surround. |

I'm also using the official Sony 7.1 headset. No problems, except that I notice that if the headset isn't on before I launch Dust, it doesn't seem to work. Quick question I didn't see for those who ARE having lag problems with the headset: Is your PS3 using a Wired or Wireless internet connection?(the Sony 7.1 headset uses radio frequencies to connect to between the headset and the USB dongle, so that might be thrashing wireless signals while its running)
Mine is wireless, but this is the only game that I play that has this issue. If it was the wireless signal interfering it would be a problem on every game, not just Dust. |

This problem still exists with the surround sound setting. |
