I put my million skill points into fully specing my Knife. I even bought the strongest damage modifier for it. I still run up behind assault suits(non proto) and end up getting kill assists.
I understand if I dont kill heavy or proto assault suits in one shot, but regular assault suits are ridiculous.
In addition, I'm still not getting hits the majority of times I swing it, even if Im literally touching the enemy with my body. |

Except your target is also Iron Man. It's not like you're the only person out there in a high tech suit. |

When fully upgraded, knife can one-shot any Scout and most non-tanked Assault/Logi suits. And you can add more damage with Stimulants, which let you one-shot even against some tanking builds.
Seems fine to me. |

Also, the knife is intended as a backup weapon for when you're out of ammo or your weapon would be ineffective against your target. It is NOT intended as a 1 hit 1 kill weapon. It was introduced to give a merc a chance of winning their fight after they've run out of ammo. |

Unfortunately, the glitch that prevents you from knifing while in the reload animation is a problem for that purpose. |

I can't find a post indicating if it's slated to be fixed in the next build, but the devs know that there's an issue with action cancellation.
That said, the knife was introduced for the previous incarnation of the beta when players would run completely out of ammo & not even have reloads left. Which essentially turned you into a giant walking punching bag. In this version, you're now a punching bag with a knife |

It's probably coming SOONGäó though.
And "punching bag with a knife" gives me a BRILLIANT idea...
Scout + Sprint and Stamina buffs + Swarm Launcher + AV Grenade = ???
I may have to try this sometime... (I'm screwed) |
