Hey guys,
how would it be, when the direction-hit-detector-circle in the middle of my HUD shows me the difference between shield- and armor-detection. I mean my shield / armor, when I get hit.
For example normal red for shields and dark red for armor. Or an inner-outer circle. Something like that, I dont no exactly.
Its just an idea, whats your opinion? |

Greetings,
Jonny Hagendorf wrote:how would it be, when the hit-detector-circle in the middle of my HUD shows me the difference between armor- and shield-detection. Wouldn't have any real value. The way the Shields work is they absorb all damage until you get below 25% shields, then at 25% and below they absorb most of the damage until they drop to zero. During this time, some damage bleeds into your armor. Once your shields drop to zero all damage is applied directly to your armor, which will absorb all of it until you get below 25% armor. Once you get below 25% armor, some of the damage bleeds into your HP for dropsuits and structure for vehicles, until your armor drops to zero. Once your armor drops to zero, your dropsuit becomes "incapacitated", your LAV / HAV stop moving, and your dropship falls out of the sky. One your HP or structure drops to zero, you die, your HAV / LAV / Dropship blow up.
Now where this get's fun is that your shields are constantly recharging, so it is possible to take armor damage and appear to have full shield.... But that is just a timing thing.

At a distance, you can see when you're hitting shields by a very visible flash around the target. When you get closer, or when you're scoped in, you get health and shield bars over the target (same as you get when close enough to teammates). |

I dont know or realized this mechanic. Then its not possible, your right.
I thought, first shields then armor. |
