No need to go prone. Lore-wise, trying to stand up from prone in quite a heavy suit of armor... |

Yeah but the suits of armor are probably motor-assisted, right? And the clones are super-soldiers?
It isn't a lore reason, it's a gameplay one. Prone slows gameplay down a hell of a lot. When you let people go prone, you may laying down somewhere and pixel hunting the way the game is played by a lot of folks. And it that makes people more reluctant to expose themselves and move around and more inclined to camp themselves. Compare Battlefield 3 (on the PC anyway) to Dust. There's a whole segment of people hiding in bushes picking people off that Dust is missing compared to BF3, and frankly I think it's better for it. |

If you need to prone, walk up to any merc with a red mark over their head. They may be able to help you. |

I can't agree more. The number of matches I've played with people sitting back at spawn trying to snipe (on the attackers side) while the defenders just started spawn camping us...

If you limit the option to a scout dropsuit. Any heavier than that and you might as well be bench pressing 200 lbs. to get up. |

If it would be implemented only on the scout suits, wouldn't it give them an unfair advantage? They can just dolphin dive and their hit box would get smaller, well unless firing straight down. |

these comments are pathetic
tl;dr: make it like mag, call it a day.
tl;dr;dr: make it infantry centric instead of everything revolving around vehicles; it reminds me of EVE and not a FPS |

I'm glad prone isn't available
Nothing worse than half your squad going prone and sniping from the original spawn or cowering in a corner some where instead of trying to caputre the objectives. |

I made a suggestion on a way to balance the option before, namely have the reticle balloon dramatically while lowering yourself to the ground such that drop-shotting is impossible, but after playing the beta for this long, I just don't see a need for prone in any case. I mean, we're using powered-armor with shield systems and sufficient strength to handle recoil better in any stance, so what purpose would it server? |

U MAD BRO?
Also it is quite obvious that there are too many vehicles. I just played a match where there were only 4 of us on foot trying to take objectives. Vehicles should be limited to X number per side simply because as it is now people would rather try and get to the top of a tower or camp a spawn than complete objectives. I don't care if you have been killing the same 3 dudes over and over again. Theres 7 more over here at B packing our **** in.

Two ways prone can be implemented that I know of:
1. It's awkward to enter and leave prone state. This feels clunky, and in DUST, would feel even moreso. It also slows down gameplay, which isn't what I want from the game.
2. It's easy and fluid. This also means it's easy to exploit, which is just as bad as slowing the pace of the game, if not worse.
Come up with a third option, and I'll back you up. But until there is a way to make prone NOT ruin the fun of the game, I'm against it. |
