I love this idea, it makes sence, especially for CORP fights, so imagine you have 1000 clones somewhere, but you need to defend or atack planet X, so you need to get those 1000 clones to planet X, that way we can stablish how many clones/respawns a team haves, 1000 clones for a planet with 5 battlefronts means 200 clones per battle, if you want to buy and take 4000 clones to planet X you can do it, because the game will still have a time limit, so you are never really going to run out of respawns , that way 200 can fight 500 respawns withouth it being unfair. And it will add more ISK movement on both Dust and EVE. that way Copr battles will be more important, it will involve more people. |

Sounds like an offshoot of the hauler class in eve could be a fun or terrible way to get around the galaxy
Makes battles into wars of attrition if the goals arent met; another real world mechanic that could be indirectly implimented |

Agree about the hauler class. Transporting live players would be a hell of a lot more exciting then normal hauling contracts, because of some of the risk involved. It wouldn't hold me back from using the option as a DUST Merc. |

Also this lets say that the ride takes 5 to 15 min, this being in an all out corp war, we get that time of war room, with a little more work, we could study the map on that time and plan better strategies, also on that time we could implement slay, or Esports, bets, chating, and it could use the same room as war room, just instead of showing the planet on the window, you could show an animated light speed travel (just moving lines) |

For solving some of the potential problems, i propose a "destination" tag for specific cargo such as "player" units and trade routes. Just right-click, pick the destination option, type in the system, then pick the station. This causes the affected cargo and taxi-riding "player units" to automatically be offloaded on docking at the target destination.
On an unrelated note, i also had an idea for an EVE ship that is very similar : About frigate-destroyer size, with docking ports for up to 6 extra pods. The actual owner always has full control. As each player docks their pod, the pod contributes its onboard capacitor, CPU and PG, giving bonuses or maybe even activating over-fitted modules. This can allow pilots de-shipped in battle to boost their allies, while making a juicy target for those wanting 6 podkills at once! |

You can't see contract support between EVE and Dust being in for the first year? I hope you're joking.. Contract support is going to be the backbone of the EVE-Dust connection; how else do you think corporations are going to hire mercenaries?
Edit: Whoa, just realized how old this thread is. Who revived it? lmao |

Asno Masamang wrote:Greetings, On paper this may sound like a good idea, but there are too many potential issues with this idea;
- Pilot logs out or disconnects.
- Server Goes down for maintenance.
- Pilot gets ganked in transit.
- Pilot gets ransomed in transit.
- Pilot decides to go "somewhere else".
- Pilot decides to hold the Dust Bunnies for ransom.
Now, normally the answer would be something along the lines of "oh well" or HTFU, but these have the potential to be far more serious when Dust and EVE are married. I have no doubt that CCP will eventually put in contract support between EVE and Dust, but I can't honestly see it going in within the first year. - A hazard that you have to live with. Though there are NPC haulers in EVE, they don't actually haul player goods, but are there for immersion. CCP could call on those for at least Highsec transits
- Servers are probably going to be joined enough that if one had to be reset for maintenance, both games suffer.
- Always a risk
- I hate that. But part of the game

Until CCP lets me fly a shuttle from planetside I think this taxi service with pilot tracking is a great idea. Along with this we need a way to get out of our quarters to the taxi though. Would it be wrong to ask to be able to walk on the stations to different rooms other than our quarters? Such as a casino or lounge or even a concert hall? Then taking a taxi somewhere like to Sommer Blink's Casino at X station would be very handy. |

Interesting idea. First off, I want to wait until PS4, simply because I want to help the EVE pilot in any way I can. Now before you think I'm being helpful, let me clarify. Letting EVE player carry around our clone supplies is essentially letting them walk away with our hard earned money. And like any good merc, I don't trust anyone with my money. So, allow mercs to man turrets on board the ship, access auxiliary targeting computers, and just do some of the things NPC crew would do, only better. Also, don't force clones to be on the ship the whole time. We can just stay at our MQ, or do another mission, and wake up in those clones when necessary. In addition, let us take down the ship if they decide to troll. We get to shoot down the ships crew and blow the engine room. |

I wonder what would the motivation for us mercs be to go sit in a room. Which any transit would be. |
