It says it lowers your signature profile does that mean it makes you a smaller target? |

Thats what i was thinking, but I think it might mean that your enemies sensors will be less likely to see you (Less chance of having that red arrow display for them.
I could be wrong. |

It means you take less damage from aoe effects... at least that's what it does in EVE. |

I could be wrong. It does this and makes you stay on enemy radar for less time.
Awiergan Snowcash wrote:It means you take less damage from aoe effects... at least that's what it does in EVE. No. It affects how long it takes for other ships to lock onto you, and how easily you are hit by larger weapons. |

Lol no. Ever wonder why frigates take less damage from torps and cruise missiles? Damage taken = explosion radius/sig radius* damage. Derp. Less damage from explosions.
Though it's also true larger radius's lock faster.
Check out the missile damge simulator in EFT. |

Basically, if you break line of sight with an enemy, whoever has the lower profile will disappear off of their opponent's radar first. Max it out with a scout suit for flanking fun. |

Pretty sure missiles and torps aren't AoE. They're single target, but yes, you're right, sig radius does effect damage done to a ship.
On the other hand, a shuttle is affected just as much by smartbombs as a battleship. |

How does this apply to a drop suit? Like a a heavy drop suit not a vehichle? |

Stealth bomber bombs are effected slightly by sig radius, though.
Smartbombs are the exception... maybe it's because they're smart? |

I think, in DUST, it only effects your mini-map. If you have a higher sig, the more likely you are to show up on it when not visible. |

In DUST, it'll reduce your visibility on the enemies' mini-maps. If you have a low signature, if you run behind an object, the more likely you are to disappear from an enemy's mini-map. |
