This sounds ridiculously overpowered.
It somewhat defeats the purpose of fitting the ship's tank.
A few dust players with inexpensive machine guns shouldn't be able to instantly negate a battleship's shield and then destroy something worth thousand times more than everything they bring with them. |

Remember the drill rounds can be shot off and depending on the shield and the hull defense it will take awhile for the drill to make a hole and you must be really unprepared for some mercs to take over your ship. So you must at least have some NPCs or sentry gun even one really good DUST player can fend off the intruders
Problem is that large ships don't exactly have turrets small enough to shoot off anything with a signature radius that small. Imagine you're fitting cruise or seige launchers; they won't do any damage to a drill. (And do you really want to be hitting that close to your own hull?) |

Let's also remember that most eve fights (even against capital ships) last under a minute per ship once it's been primaried. |

They can shoot the round off. and if a couple of DUST mercs are near when a drill just made a hole they can spawn camp it. If the intruders get killed( remember heavy and hopefully CCP made shields that can deal with RE) they can tell the EVE player that they can't go in to that particular round so he/she can make it explode for a small amount of damage to both shield and hull.
Fighters are only usable by two ship types in the game... neither of which has guns in the first place, so that's a moot point.
Not all ships have any drones at all. Take a look at the T3 battlecruisers; they have huge guns and no drones. Most PVPers are going to prioritize ECM drones over drones that can do damage. |

Bombs cost what, 500k a round? And do 5000 damage... should a 300k weapon really have the potential to deal 40million+ damage to a supercap? |

Let's also consider doomsdays cost >40mil per shot to fire. Something closer to that range would be reasonable if this is actually a capital killer. |

So it either have a good deference inside your ship or send a DUST merc in his/her personnel fighter(if CCP puts it in the game) to destroy the round or call one of your allies to send some of his drones your way ( I'm only a DUST player so I don't know if you can really do that in EVE)
Two question for you.
Are you a EVE player?
If so, when you destroy another player ship. how much of his/her stuff survives, some, half , all, or its just random.
First question, yes, I've been playing since '08.
Second question: I've wondered about this myself. At this point, I'm pretty sure it's random. It seems to be rolled per item though. (as in everything can be destroyed, sometimes nothing is). Given the "salvage" window that appears after a match, I'm wondering if DUST players may have a shot at getting some loot from exploding EVE ships?
But in addition, the loot is two fold. You can also use a salvage ship (more specifically a Noctis) to de-construct the hull of a dead ship into parts. This is also random (sometimes you get nothing). The value of the salvage is dependent on the size and tech level of the ship. http://mindstar.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13976225 (You may have to copy and paste these urls, the forum security-thingy doesn't like linking them).
There's one of my recent losses. As you can see, 18mil of my modules were destroyed, while only 5 mil were dropped. |

I really don't know how much regular ammo is for an EVE players. Be a little like 50.000 ISK higher than regular ammo with the worst one but should be fourth or third expansive ammo for the best ones. Really its a gamble shot if you think about it.
Well, if these weapons are TOO common, there simply won't be enough dust players around to fight all the battles that involve them. |

How expansive are the drones? Like can a new EVE player afford some if there drones skills are level 1
Do you buy crew members or there in your ship by default?
There's a wide variety. Scout drones (which cost less than 100k), are incredibly small fighter craft. Many frigates can take up to 3, cruisers and battleships can often take up to 5. A few ships use them as a primary weapon, while other ships have no drones at all. It's not a universal thing; rather, it's more like a weapon you can equip. Some of the largest ships in the games (such as dreadnoughts) have massive guns and no drones at all available, so ship size isn't everything. Carriers get the most drones in the game (with supercarriers being able to field 15). Carrier drones (called Fighters and Fighter Bombers) cost 20mi+ per drone, and are on par with player frigates. They're incredibly specialized and expensive, though.
Normally the number of drones you can have is capped by your drones skill + your carrier skill (if in a carrier).
Ships have NPCs on them, supposedly, according to this guide: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/New_Eden_crew_guidelines
You can also keep special passengers in your cargohold (mercenaries, strippers, prostitutes, doctors, etc). Currently, these passengers don't do anything at all, though. They're just collectors/trading items, and are usually somewhat uncommon, as there's no steady source of them in game. (You can't build them, lol). |
