As for low-sec and null-sec (0.0/outlaw) space, where contracts are provided only by player-run corporations, such a system should only be reserved for the Corporation's CEO or key Directors who are trust worthy of making sound decisions without the influence of the trolls.
Or the in game commander overseeing the game in the MCC (I suppose that's how it'll work, not sure) |

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the vote-to-kick mechanism in the final build, is the assault rifle that's in your hand. Don't want a member on your team? Shoot him enough times he'll drop the match.
In EVE, friendly fire is 100% sanctioned, in fact corpmates are the ONLY people you can shoot without committing a crime, other than declared war targets. CCP expects people to resolve their own HR problems, with deadly force if necessary and / or fun.
I bet this Darwinian style of management will probably exist in Dust as well, since everyone will want to be part of a corp, and griefing will probably get you kicked from your corp, even if make it you through a match while killing your team mates recklessly. Likewise, team killing will just as likely be used to enforce rules that a member isn't listening to - like repeatedly spawning the wrong vehicle or ignoring orders.
What is UNLIKELY are arbitrary mechanisms that punish you or prevent you from shooting a team member. I highly suspect this is just in place to make the beta learning curve a bit more shallow while we wait corp organization. |
