I joined the Dust 514 beta having never played EVE online, and I'm curious to see how many people are like me versus coming from the EVE Online community. I didn't see any way to create a poll on the forums, so I just made a quick SurveyMonkey poll. Take it and I'll post the results in a few days!

Wow, there were a lot of responses really quickly!
Out of 30 respondents so far:
17 (57%) Play EVE Online
13 (43%) Only play Dust 514
I was surprised it was so even. I expected it to slant more heavily towards EVE.

36 (59%) Play EVE Online
25 (41%) Only play Dust 514
Do the numbers surprise anyone? I thought the split would be closer to 75/25.

I would think the EvE side will just slowly increase.
While very few players as a whole on both sides ever visit the forums, I think the EvE side is slightly more in tune with following forums and playing the game outside of the game.
A good chunk of DUSTs single universe advertising was to get more people to try EvE as well. |

Currently an inactive account on EVE but I did play for about five years.
I used to be an Xbox gamer but when CCP through their lot in with Sony, I picked up a PS3 for dust.
My only regret is that no one on playstation owns a headset... and there is no Party chat. |

7yrs playing eve, highly enjoyed it, soundly hated it to.
dust to me is an extension to eve and my ingame life/contacts there. |

Never played or truly cared for EVE.
I only joined the beta after seeing someone from my friend's list playing it, then remembering "OH! It's that game from E3 2011 that's supposed to have cross-platform/cross-game interaction!", going to IGN and getting a key.
It has potential. |
