Can EVE corporations sell planets?
If so, then yes, DUST corps will be able to do so as well. Because DUST and EVE corporations won't be separated in any real way. |

Currently planets are just there.
No one can own them, Solar Systems is what EVE looks toward, dust will claim planets and districts on those planets.
And I'm sure you can somehow sell or contract the district over to a new owner.

Kind of sound like something borrowed from Eve.
1. Sell Navy Issue ship in low-sec. 2. Wait for some fool to buy it and come on over. 3. Camp station. 4. Ransom the fool for more ISK or destroy it and salvage the wreck. 5. ??? 6. Profit.
Or.
(please note the following actually did happen in Eve)
1. Catch some idiot mining in a high-sec belt. 2. Notice that he is switching between his Orca and his Hulk in the middle of space with no one to back him up. 3. Sneak in a pod. 4. Jump into his unattended Orca (worth about 500 Million ISK). 5. Warp out and leave the Hulk pilot behind. 6. ??? 7. Profit.
EDIT: fixed a typo. |

I don't really see the benefits of owning a planet if you truly plan on playing as a mercenary. Selling planets seems like the best way to amass a fortune and the in turn use that money to fund shenanigans. |

In a way that's true.
but owning it creates more ISK for a period of time, but if you don't ever want to defend an assets that's an option. |

Might as well. Players in Eve literally sell slaves and exotic dancers on the market. And only the tip of the iceberg.

according to one of the eve fanfest panels on dust, the devs confirmed that dust mercs would be able to attack and occupy planets of their own volition, and sell the resources produced to eve players. |

You can always go the Goonswarm route. Ask recruits to pay you hundreds of millions of ISK upfront and then just reject their application if they fall for it. |

no, what you do is get some random big market trader to join goonswarm then you, as some lowly (supposed) recruiter, ask for a small fee to enter, call it spy insurance or something dumb. then ask that trader to transfer all of his stuff out to some middle-of-nowhere nullsec system. offer to protect him so he can feel free to load up a big jump freighter and then you team up with some buddies and pop his freighter when he arrives. isk pinata!

Not all, some find wormholes and sell them to new/expanding corps. I'm hoping there will be a market or contract/trade option to not just trade planets, but deep enough to trade structures within districts. |

Well it depends on the mechanics that will be in place around sovereignty... if ownership of a planet implies paying a tax in EVE to install a keep up a POS, then it has some major implications and huge fun is assured for both Dust and EVE players.
I think there should be a so called final solution, where I can bring my Titan and sterilise the planet with a doomsday blast... |

Hell, R32 and R64 moons are bought and sold in EVE for their resources. I would imagine planets in Dust would be no different, only I doubt there'd be a market mechanic for it or anything. You'll most likely be stuck with doing direct ISK transfers, which is excellent, because then one side or the other can screw their opponent over, thus leading to more fighting, which is -always- good. |

Not entirely true - a corp owns the POCO (Player Owned Customs Office) of a planet, and it basically means you rule what's being shipped on and off that planed in form of Planetary Interaction items. Initially, I bet this will be what DUST will help EVE-players in accumulating.
Then again, I don't really have any idea what it will be like. |

Yeahh, forgot to mention that. but it's not realy "owning" or ruling over it. You do collect taxes from the POCO, but that is only based on what people are taking off the planet.
Also, this method will change with DUST, we'll have surface infrustructure and EVE will have orbital infrustructure.
Shipments will be to and from the Space Elevators, you know this thing |
